PIKMIN
REVIEW
Concept Another unique and innovative game from the mind of Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, and now Pikmin), Pikmin has you leading around an army of these little animal/plant hybrids, attacking creatures, collecting items to produce Pikmin, and ultimately collecting all of the parts of your space ship. The only bad thing is the time limit, which makes the game feel very rushed. Score: 4/5 Graphics Incredible. Everything that would look normal to use is HUGE to the Pikmin. The planet they live on looks very much like ours but giant. It's all very realistic, but with cartoony enemies and Pikmin. Score: 5/5 Sound Simple background themes, which fit very well with the locations. The Pikmin are funny, because they have their own distinct voices, though they can't speak, they make funny noises. Score: 5/5 Playability All the controls make sense. You control Captain Olimar with the control stick, and you throw Pikmin with A. You can use the C-stick to rally the Pikmin around a location, and you also have a whistle to get their attention. Score: 5/5 Entertainment Really fun. There's nothing cooler than seeing your little army take on a huge beast and carry its carcass back to their Pikmin "Onions." Score: 5/5 Replay Value High. You will want to play through this game many times, if for no other reasons but that your game feels cut short by the time limit. Score: 5/5 OVERALL: 9.7/10
