Tom Tomashek reports: "The cheers turned to a roar as Chris, obviously nervous, was formally introduced. Watching Taylor shrug his meaty arms, Flair balked several times before stalking up to apply an armlock which was rebuked with a shake by Taylor. Flair grabbed a mammoth leg, but was sent skidding across the mat. Indignant, Flair swept around to Taylor's back and applied a full nelson - only to find that once through Taylor's arms, he couldn't reach the neck. Swelled with rage, Flair sent a vicious forearm into Chris drawing but a smile from the young giant. A fan exclaimed in awe, "Damn. Dick the Bruiser couldn't have thrown a harder forearm, and he (Taylor) wasn't even fazed." So what next? The dirty stuff, of course. Flair employed a few foul tactics along the ropes which the ref missed, but not the fans. Amid a chorus of boos, Flair threw a punch which drew blood from Chris' nose. Chris was no longer smiling. Now he was mad. Chris tossed Flair into the ropes and used his huge frame as a backboard from which Flair rebounded. Taylor collected his 200-pound [sic] foe and pressed him above his head, then tossed him to the canvas. Seven minutes and 10 seconds after it began, it was all over." |
