losing
I felt your cold hand on my cheek,
a restless glistening in your eyes.
You knew to fight you were too weak,
that you would not be alive.
You turned your head to the window,
and caught some spare rays of light.
They weren't warm nor were they cheerful,
for someone who needs to see the sun shine bright.
As you struggled to look up,
I saw a tear form in your eyes,
a tear of pain and endless confusion,
and I knew you'd stopped the lies.
I thought what it would be like,
to hold you tight as you slip away,
to feel your spirit leave me,
to embrace your body and to sway?
I feel it creeping down my back,
a feeling of letting go.
It craps me, holds me, takes my breath,
lets me know you have left me so.
The wind is blowing stronger,
I'm losing every breath.
Don't fear it won't be much longer,
until I'll join you forever.
