"You're so right my Angelica, I can't believe it's here at last. Every year, this day seems to come so much faster doesn't it?" Mort mused thoughtfully and began kissing Angie more passionately.
"Honey, not now. I have to pee!" Angie pushed at Mort's shoulders, trying to get him to release her. "We'll have all night after the party Mort."
"All right, if that's the way you want it I just thought this once??."

Later in the morning Mort helped Angie fasten the tiny buttons on the back of the dress that looked almost like a wedding gown.
"I don't know why I need to get ready so soon Mort," she told him. "I have a couple of hours before I need to get ready. Oh and by the way, why did you prepare all that ground with cement blocks?"
"No Angie, I want to make sure you, the dress and the air canisters fit comfortably." Mort soothed her,
"I want you to lay in it for a while to see if you can handle it later while we're waiting for our guests to arrive. And Two, because I don't want out guest walking on the lawn around you and making the ground too soft to get you out of the coffin easily. Ok?"
"Well, alright, if you say so. I am sure you know what you're doing. Anyways Mort, I 'm just going to leave my hair long this time then." Angie said as she began brushing her shoulder length, lustrous black hair. "I don't want to be stuck breathing the fumes from the hairspray in that closed space."

Mort agreed and left to prepare a special drink for her. He wanted Angie to fall asleep soon after laying in the coffin so that he could complete the rest of his plans. The timing was going to be crucial. He needed Angie asleep within the next forty-five minutes. Mort mixed an extra sweet 'Orange Tang'  and added four
'Sleep-eze'  tablets and three 'Gravol', just because they were known to cause drowsiness. Maybe the extra sweetening would help  to hide the taste of the crushed drugs. Hopefully it would keep her knocked out for at least  four hours and by then it wouldn't matter.

Angie walked into the kitchen just as Mort was blending the drink. Twirling beside him she begged a compliment, "Will I do?" she asked. "Hopefully I look as good as you do."
Mort glanced her over, nodded and then poured a large glass of the juice for her.
"What's this for?" Angie enquired.
"This is so that you don't become dehydrated," Mort told her. "I don't want you to faint on me as soon as I've brought you out of the coffin." Then he leaned in to linger a kiss upon her lips. "Now come on drink up and then let's try it out ok?"
Angie obligingly drank the entire contents of her glass and followed Mort out to the coffin. "That orange juice tasted awfully bitter at the bottom. Did you grate peel into the juice Mort?"
"Well, of course I did," he replied, "Didn't you know that the peel helps, in a way, to keep you from drying out?"
Angie held out her heels for Mort to hold as she got down into the coffin and made sure to spread her dress appropriately. Mort then handed the shoes for Angie to put on. Then as she lay back and snuggled her body comfortably into the coffin, Mort lay down and twitched and teased her dress into place. Laying her head on the satin pillow she yawned as Mort told her, "All right Angie, you rest hear while I get the canisters of air for you." Mort started to walk away then turned back, "Angie, Honey, don't move too much as we want to make sure you're in a comfortable position  with the canisters. Ok?"
Sleepily answering Mort, "I'm getting awfully sleepy all of a sudden Hon." Angie gave a great yawn, "I think I'll just have a little snooze here, ok?"
"That's fine Angie, Baby you sleep. You won't even notice the canister of air then." Mort went into the house as Angie slipped into a sleep that was deeper than the snooze she thought she was going to have. Angie didn't even notice that Mort went into the house and not the garage where the canisters were.

Mort stood at the kitchen window for a while watching the coffin for any sign of movement. Then turning to the phone he dialed a local number. "Hello Joe?" he asked. Listening for a moment he replied "Yes I have all the connections ready. You can deliver the hot tub? How soon do you think it will be here?" Listening, Mort gave a nod as if the person at the other end of the phone could see him. Then hanging up, Mort looked out the window again, there was still no movement from the coffin.
Moving quickly, Mort ran to the garage through the house entrance. There he gathered the two canisters of air and a length of fake grass turf. Mort carefully checked over the labels on the canisters to make sure they weren't peeling off. Noting that they hadn't, Mort quickly and quietly moved outside to the open coffin. He leaned down and gently put the canisters in the coffin. Then working quickly, he closed and locked the coffin lid. After checking that it was secure, Mort got to work covering up the coffin. Nearing the end after placing the last cement block down Mort heard the doorbell start ringing. Quickly he laid the fake turf and smoothed its edges with the sod around it.
Mort opened the door to discover that the hot tub delivery people were as prompt as they said they would be. He directed them around to the gate along the back of the fence.
An hour later the hot tub was installed and filled up. Mort set the temperature gauge to heat up and then went to shower.

Several hours later Angie woke up to find herself in complete darkness. She had been hearing water gurgle for a while now and it made her want to pee so bad that she couldn't sleep anymore. Angie put her hands up to feel herself enclosed in the coffin. 'Why was it so dark?' she wondered. Just then she heard people speaking. The tones were muted.
