This episode starts with Gabby determined to use a weapon. After an unsucessful try at using Xena's sword, she purchases a breast dagger. Xena quickly confiscates it and then in a sudden fight, Gabrielle is abducted by soldiers of Morpheus(god of dreams). Xena finds a former priest of Morpheus who informs Xena that Gabrielle has been stolen for an evil ritual which will attempt to trick her into killing. Once she kills, she will become the bride of Morpheus(a.k.a. death). Xena must go through a dreamscape passage in order to reach the place that Gabrielle is being held. The dreamscape passage uses memories of the past to torture whoever is trying to get through. Meanwhile, Gabrille goes through several trials and uses what Xena taught her to escape without killing. At the end of the dreamscape passage Xena must defeat/come to terms with her dark side. Once she does, she appears just in time to save Gabrielle. The priest "attempts" to stop them and gets a right hook knockout punch from Gabby. Thanks to the duo, Morpheus no longer holds the valley in the grips of fear. |
