My time at the Serria Nevadas

Some of the wild life...

This is one of the native frogs, the pacific treefrog, which we found in one of the wet meadows.

A nice picture of a corn lily, very large plants which can send out runners underground to produce clones.

This is a picture of a 2-year-old bullfrog tadpole. These are NOT native to the area and are a considerable pest, as they eat the native treefrog tadpoles.

Some sort of skink, I think.

While we were there, we got to participate in a bird banding project. This was a hummingbird...

...and a woodpecker. Those guys sure put up a painful defense!

Some of the amenities...

<
My 'dorm'

The shower...A place where you can really get in touch with the outdoors!

The alarm clock. My tent was really far away from the building, so I had to be real good about hearing the wake-up breakfast bell!

But since this was my camp ground...

And this my swimming hole... I guess I can't complain!

Sunset over the Nevada valley where we went birdwatching, and saw some awesome birds!

This is a really tall waterfall where I did the bravest/stupidiest thing in my life.

Here is the waterfall rushing beides me...

Ad here is the picture I took standing on top of the waterfall looking down. Brr...To high up, and totally off the trail. But I does make a good picture!
