Old Dueteronomy
Deuteronomy

Aliases: Old Deuteronomy

Nicknames: Deut, Old D

Age: Elder

Physical Appearance: Shaggy gray and light brown.

The Naming of Deuteronomy: (DOO terr ON oh mee) Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Old Testament and last book of the Pentateuch. Deuteronomy means second law. This book completes and explains the law proclaimed on Mount Sinai. A chief characteristic of the book is its eloquent speeches by Moses as he tries to enforce Gods claim to their loyalty and love. Perhaps T.S. Eliot chose this name because Old Deuteronomy is very wise or because lives at an abbey.

Description: Old Deuteronomy is the Jellicle leader and, as Ken Page said in The Making of Cats video, is probably the father of a few of them. All the other cats just adore him, especially
Mistoffelees.

Memorable Quote: Do you know how to go to the Heaviside Layer? - Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats (technically, thats a nameless cat, not Deuteronomy, but close enough and I like the way Ken Page says it)

People who have Played Deuteronomy: Ken Page (film / OB,) Brian Blessed (OL,) Jimmy Lockett (BA,) John Wood (OA,) Juan Jackson (CRAC)
