| Jemima (Sillabub) Nicknames/ Aliases: Jem, Jemi, Mima, Sillabub/ Sillibub (in stage performances) Age: Kitten Family: Jennyanydots (mother), Skimbleshanks (father) Physical Appearance: Black and white, but with a calico-patterned head The Naming of Jemima: (je MY ma) Jemima is Hebrew for dove, and she certainly seems graceful and peaceful, like a dove. The Naming of Sillabub: (SIL e bub) When spelled syllabub, the word means a drink or dish of milk or cream mixed with wine, cider, or the like. It could be have been misspelled on purpose. The bub part may also be from Beelzebub, another name for the devil. How nice. Description: Jemima has a lot of empathy for Grizabella and loves the Rum Tum Tugger. (Who doesnt?) She has a very pretty voice and sings part of Memory with Grizabella. Jemima seems a little overwhelmed by the scale of the Jellicle Ball, but looks like shes having the time of her life. Memorable Quote: Daylight through the trees in summer, endless masquerading -Memory (reprise) People who have played Jemima/ Sillabub: Veerle Castelyn (film / Antwerp,) Whitney Kershaw (OB,) Sarah Brightman (OL,) Jessica Dillan (BA,) Anita Combe (OA,) Sarah Bowden (CRAC) |
