Wicca is commonly called witchcraft. Now, that I have your attention, I'm going to get rid of the nasty image that just flashed in your mind when you herd the word witch. I don't have green skin and worts or a pointy nose, well, you've seen my picture. And I don't go running around putting hexes on my neighbour or sacrificing cute fluffy animals to the Devil. That's just not how it works. In fact, I don't even believe in the Devil. That also means there's no Hell or Heaven to go along with that. Us Wiccans (most of us anyawy) feel that to give something a name is to give it power, therefore no "Devil".
Wicca is an earth-based spirituality that basiclly revolves around a Goddess and a God. There are 8 holidays called Sabbats, four major and four minor. The major sabbats are: Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane, and Lammas. The minor sabbats are: Yule, Ostara, Midsummer, and Mabon. It would take way too long for me to explain each here, but there are websites at the bottom of the page that have that information there.
With Witchcraft comes spells and magick right? True, but I feel that is something not to be taken lightly. I'm sure all of you are going, "Yay she can turn people into toads!"...um, how about no! If you think that you are sorely mistaken. Love spells are a no no, in my opnion anyway. It's just un-ethical. Oh, when refering to magick we spell it with a k to seperate it from the pulling-bunnies-out-of-top-hats kind of magic most peoeple assoicate with that spelling.
There are many different sects to Wicca and I myself don't really know them all, but I thought I'd metnion that in case you thought all Wicca was the same. It is actually a branch of the Pagan religon. All Wiccans are Pagans, but not all Pagans are Wiccan. This is because, like any other religon, Paganism is just a set of beliefs pretaning to how one should live their lives.
