| Date: 5/16/2002 Time: 3:00 p.m. Location: Cannes, France Event: Cannes Film Festival Interview By: Mark Schwed MARK: So I'm here with the one and only HARVEY SILVER (Going Greek, star). How long have you been out here in France so far? HARVEY: I've just arrived here two days ago. MARK: Does this seem like the kind of country you can call home for a few days? HARVEY: Yes. I mean I'm having such a good time, it's incredible out here! Besides, this is my first time out of the country. MARK: Are you in a film playing here at the festival this year ? HARVEY: No. Some of my friends that I'm here with have movies showing at the festival. I'm not into name dropping so we'll just keep the names on the hush hush......! You know what I mean? MARK: Well I love name dropping. That's why I come to France so I can drop names! I've seen you hanging out with Christina Ricci, Adrien Brody, Woody Allen and Emily Watson (just to name a few), could this be your posse?!! HARVEY: Like I said before, I plead the fifth on name dropping. Who have you interviewed so far besides me? MARK: Oh I see, now you want me to name drop! HARVEY: You're right! ...Actually you said you don't mind giving names. MARK: Ha Ha Ha! You actors are fast. I've been interviewing people from David Lynch to Leonardo DiCaprio, you name it. HARVEY: Look, it's Cameron Diaz. She is so hot in person. Oop's, what am I saying, I'm married. This interview won't make it to the U.S. will it?(Laughs) MARK: I first saw you in the movie "STEEL" back in 1997 with Shaq, but I assume people must know you more from TNBC's "ONE WORLD". continued: HARVEY: Too long! No, we were on network for four years. I've seen the show in my hotel room last night. It kind of gives a new name to "Saturday Morning" television being as though I saw it at night. I believe it's playing all over the world now. MARK: Do you miss doing TV? HARVEY: Yes, but it's always great to move on in your career. MARK: I've seen your One World co-star Michelle Krusiec in a movie or two lately. I believe the films were, "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Pumpkin". Speaking of films, I heard you're starring as T.J. in the upcoming Justin Zackham film,"GOING GREEK". How was it ? HARVEY: It was a lot of fun. T.J. was a very cool & hip character to play. A ladies man! In all, Going Greek was just a crazy in the funniest way kind of movie. I'm looking forward for it's release. MARK: Name some of the other stars of Going Greek, or would that be name dropping?(Laughs) HARVEY: I can tell you becouse it's on imdb (Internet) anyway. Let's see, Oliver Hudson, Chris Owen, Charlie Talbert, Susan Ward, Dylan Bruno, Simon Rex, Laura Harris, Claire Forlani, Tom Bower and the one and only Harvey Silver, me! MARK: Harvey who? Just Kidding. I really enjoyed your work in the movie "Last Resort" by the way. An old friend of mine was in it. HARVEY: Thank you. Who was your friend? MARK: Dean Stockwell. I've been interviewing him for years now. Well Harvey, it's time to move on, see you in the movies!! HARVEY: Okay.....see ya next year.! END! |
