My Little Bon Bon
Cause she was chocolate and vanilla
Hey she went gray early in life. If I had 14 kids back to back I would too.
Ahhhh...FurryKnight's lady, The beautiful chocolate lab. Destined to be breed for Seeing Eyes for the Blind, that plan was foiled when Furry took her out for a night on the town.
Up to that point she was your typical Lab, weight problems, loyalty to her two footed family. Never straying from where the food was. Then Furry, who was known to slip out the gates and roam the town to check up on the Neighborhood, took her out and we believe it was to the local schools unofficial mascot, a blond lab, that she was introduced to while in heat. We assume that because the litter looks like pure bred labs. That brought on 7 gorgeuos puppies, that we kept the lone male (see cujo). All this as we started construction on our house. Kept the kiddies occupried and out of trouble. Life was Good. The little chocolate kiss continued to be the permanent bump in the rug, regaining the weight lost in pregnancy quickly, returning to her tootsie roll shape. We the 2 footers, decided to tie her tubes since the seeing eye dog place wanted her to be "virgen". Since she had puppies by a unknown dog, she was no longer acceptable, plus she had questionable hips so that was over. Or so we thought. Naively thinking lets let her recover from the pregnancy, we allowed the summer to pass and Furry took her out again on the first day she returned to heat, so that we never knew, and she gave birth again in the winter. These were not pure bred in any manner. Once we passed them on, her breeding days were ended. No wait this time
Life went on again. She grew older, the typical aches of a lab with weight problems have occured and we still can not get her to exercise unless we "lead her by the nose".  Aqua therapy was reccomended for its non-weightbearing effects. Unless we walk in with her and keep moving she does not move from our side. At least Cujo chases a ball into the water, but then he has always been lean and muscular. If I had not witnessed his birth I would not belive he was hers. My little tootsie roll enjoys life to fullest like any lab, and shows her undying love and devotion everyday. I hope that I return the same intensity in my love for all of them.
