Red Hot Irons or Pincers
Torture instruments such as red hot pincers were similarly used as the spider or rippers, to tear the flesh of accused persons bodies. The red hot iron was also used to burn flesh, gouge out eyes, and were also inserted into the vagina or rectum.
Red Hot Iron Test: The accused witch was instructed to grab hold of the red hot iron. If successful in holding the iron they were deemed guilty as they were being �assisted� by the devil. Unfortunately, by this time in the torture process the accused would have acquired a certain amount of insensitivity to the pain.
