At the turn of the twenty fifth century, a Q council appeared to the leaders of Starfleet. Q was among them. His snide smile insantly made the President of the Federation wary "What do you want, Q?" She asked. "We, the Q, have decided to give you a gift." He replied. "Since your Captain Janeway was so instrumental in ending our civil war." Q took a deep, uneccessary breath before continuing. "You have explored your galaxy to the fullest, and we the Q are worried that you may become bored. To that effect, the Q have decided to create a galactic portal, located just outside Earth's solar system. This portal will take you to the Natut galaxy, your nearest neighbor. Enjoy." And with that, the Q and the rest of the Q council vanished.The members of the Federation council looked at one another. "We'll send a ship immediatly." The President said. A man towards the end of the hall raced out of the room Within hours a ship was dispatched, to investigate the new phenomenon. The protal was a large, diamond shaped gem, the size of a starbase. The captain in charge of the vessel approached it carefully, unsure as to how he should proceed. When he was within seveeral hundred kilometers, the ship was sucked into the gem. The crew was frozen in the massive rock, then suddenly, it vanished. The captain reawoke in a strange new place. It was absolutley amazing. At the same time, in the Milky Way galaxy, a ship appeared. It was from the Natut galaxy, having been brought there by the Q. This began a whole new era in Federation history. There has been a free exchange of technology and information between the two galaxies, and now, the U.S.S. IDIC has been built and manned to explore this new galaxy. Both Wayans and Natuts serve on the ship, making it an interesting mix of the old, and the new. |
