Dark Moon December 2001: "Faith in One's Own Self"

Ground and center (Wolfwings)

Earth-Water purification (Blackwood)

Air-Fire charging (Dedicate)

Cast the circle (Foxglove)

Invoke elements (Dedicate, North/Earth; Wolfwings, East/Air; Foxglove, South/Fire; Blackwood, West/Water; Foxglove, Center/Spirit)

Invoke gods (Wolfwings, Goddess; Blackwood, God)

Blackwood:
"In the dreaming, in the dark, one can become lost. As the goddess hides Her face in darkness, we may come to terms with the reality of our own selves.

The dark hides things from us we do not want to see. Some of these things revel in the darkness, and the darkness can overtake us. This is not the balance we strive for, and so we must root out the excess darkness, discover the things that thrive in the dark and hide from our efforts to purge them, so that we may walk the roads of our lives with our eyes open, our hands free, and our backs unbent."

Dedicate:
"We will journey to our individual places of power. We will bring the Light of Knowledge to the dark corners of this sacred space to discover those things hiding that would inhibit us in our growth. Let us go now, and journey to these places. Bring with you your tools, especially your athame, for the time of cleansing has come."

Coven closes eyes.

Blackwood reads guided mediation.

Coven shares experiences, talks over meanings with each other.
