B/C 1 Stage 1                                               ALL                            Denise Calvert

If you have not had the opportunity to attend Stage One of the Leadership Development Program then this is the session for you. It will provide activities and resources to help you get started in your position as a new Guider. This session is for New Guiders only.

 

B/C 2 Camp Tewatano Visit                     ALL                            Sylvia Dufresne

Visit Camp Tewatano and learn about Solar Heating and much more.  Transportation will be arranged.

 

B/C 3 Fresh Air Fare                      ALL    Gayle Shepherd, Karen Henderson

More than beans and wieners. Hands on outdoor cooking Session at local Girl Guide Site. Dress for the weather.

 

B/C 4 Orienteering (Map & Compass)   G/P/SNB        Lynn Clark, Bev Spillane

Here's hoping you don't get lost. We will show you the right way. Please bring your own compass if you have one.

 

B/C 5 Conflict Management Workshop            GEN                           Tim Purvis

Participants will learn basic conflict management theory and practical skills and strategies for handling conflict in inter-personal and group settings. You will also discover your own conflict management style.

 

B/C 6 Sizzlin Science                                            B/G                                                     Lori Purvis, Cherilyn Golub

Introduce Brownies and Guides to hands on science fun including ideas for crafts, music, experiments, games and food. List of resources will be supplied and instructions for some of the activities. Bring a tape recorder for music portion. Note: Please indicate on your application if you have a nut allergy. This session is similar to the one presented in 2001 but longer.

Do you shudder and shake at the thought of speaking to a group of parents? Come and get some tips on how

to make public speaking a little easier.

 

Session A 9:40 -11:10

Come and learn some simple dances that you can include in your meetings. This session will help you add activity, creativity & Fun to your program planning.

Crafts to enhance your Spark and Brownie Programs. Please bring a pair of scissors and lots of enthusiasm.

Would you like to have a meeting ready to be used on that night you haven't got time to prepare anything. We will show you how to plan, pack and be ready for those nights.

Learn to teach the basic knots to your girls through hands-on activities. To include Bowline, Clove Hitch, Reef Knot, Sheet Bend.

Have you always wanted to know how to plan a memorable campfire. Come, learn and experience.

 

A 13 Add Fun to your District and Division Meetings           ADMIN

Enliven your meetings, foster the friendship, and work together as a team. Most of all have fun.

If you have not yet attended a Safe Guide Training -here is your opportunity. Session will concentrate on how

to use the Safe Guide for all your activities.

A 17 Come to Sangam                                          G/P/SNB                                                        Christina Schilling

Take a trip to India to visit our world centre there -Sangam. This session will offer a taste of the Indian experience through music and the arts. You will have the opportunity to try on a sari and take part in ceremonies. All of these activities will prepare you to lead your own "tour" to India with your unit.

 

A18 Developing Leadership in girls                  ALL

Although some people seem to be born with leadership qualities, these qualities, can be learned and developed. Come and learn how to develop leadership in your girls.

Learn many ways to use and have fun with a kerchief. Girls will enjoy this useful craft. Extra Cost $ 3.00

Participate in singing games, simple games and crafts that will interest your young girls. Bring a tape recorder to record the songs that we sing so that you can play it at your meetings. It will help you to remember the tunes and the words. These activities will fulfill program requirements.

One day you are running a unit, and then suddenly you are an administrator responsible for looking after dozens of adults. Welcome to the Commissioner's job. This session will help you get started.

Have you been wondering how you can best do your job as District Guider. Come together with other District Guiders & District Commissioners to discuss the job description and plan for the coming year.
