    Round pen work is a wonderful way to strengthen the bond between you and your horse, as well as establish your position as the alpha horse. I am providing here the suggested measurements for building a roundpen.

     *The total area of your round pen should be approximately 60 feet in diameter

     *The sides should be at least 6 feet tall. Any shorter may encourage a horse to jump over

     *Each post should be placed 10 feet apart

     *The gate should be at least 6 feet wide for easier access

     *The bottom panel of the pen should be 2" x 12", placed horizontally to the ground

     *Leave 2 inches in between each panel until you reach the top of the post
