Definitions of Fanfic Terms

These terms pertain to information contained on this site.

Shonen Ai: boy/boy romantic love

Yaoi: male/male sexual relationship

Lime: non graphic sexual scene

Lemon: very graphically described sexual scene

OOC: Out Of Character. characters acting differently than they normally would in the anime.

Fluff: general sweet mushiness but not too much

Sap: like fluff but MUCH sweeter mushiness

AU: Alternate Universe. like sticking ranma in the 1800's in America or something

PWP: Plot, what plot? basically a story made up just for the purpose of getting the two main characters in bed with each other

OC: contains an Original Character one that does not appear in the actual show

Mary Sue: a character that is usually good looking, good at everything, everybody loves her (or him). Not just an original character but much more annoying (to most ppl). Usually falls in love with/has sex with author's favorite character(s)

Songfic: a story using lyrics of a song as a background or some people just like to stick songs in their fics having characters talk about the lyrics too (ME!!!)

Deathfic: fic contains character death

+: denotes a romantic relationship without sexual detail. people may be dating but not having sex

x: denotes explicit sexual relationship. dominant pairing on the left, submissive on the right. example: Bakura x Ryou or Vegeta x Bulma
