Anya's parents left her at a year-round boarding school when she was very young. They said it was "safer" for her there. Anya's last name is unknown, she takes King from Jareth, the Goblin King after she runs away and goes to live with him.

Anya has a special ability that lets her resize objects to whatever size she needs them to be. She is a bright young girl and loves to solve puzzles that involve logic. She wears her hair in the "Odango" or "Sailormoon" hairstyle. When her hair is up like this, the pigtail part that is pulled through the bun only is about chin length.
