		AP Literature and Composition

				This course will focus on major literary works that have in one way or another influenced other major writers. More importantly, we will look at how these authors use different elements within their pieces to accomplish their purpose. We will be reading many novels and you will be expected to analyze and evaluate them in written and oral form. Please be advised that if you do not like to read or write, this is not the class for you. I strongly recommend you buy your own copy of the books we will be reading. There are many ways for you to accomplish this. The most obvious is for you to buy the books on your own at a major or used bookstore. As a class, we will be taking a trip to a used bookstore where you can purchase the novels if you choose to do so. You can also let me know well in advance that you wish to purchase the book and I will be happy to get the books at a reduced price.
