- These full size pictures are really large. Be ready to bring a lunch while waiting for them to load. I put them here because they show so nicely the ridges and valleys and mountain cuts of California. I especially like the 1895 map because it shows so many of the towns I know about, but did not have any idea that they were that old. Have a good time studying these maps for clues to all the ancient terrtiary channels that have been found and, of course, the one that you might think has not been discovered.
