The Man
Name: Roronoa Zoro Age: 19 (Seems older to me) Position: Eh...First Mate? (Not specified, as far as I know) (Former) Occupation: Pirate Hunter Weapon/Fighting Style: Santoryu, the three-sword style. Goal: To become the best swordsman in the world.
His Story: Even as a child, Zoro was almost insanely strong. At nine years old, he was able to defeat all of his peers, as well as all the adults in the dojo where he trained. At this time, he used only two swords. The only person Zoro was unable to defeat, no matter how hard he trained, was Kuina, his sensei's daughter. She beat him 2000 times, using only one sword.
The night of his 2000th defeat, Zoro challenged Kuina to a duel with real swords. Though he tried his hardest, Kuina again defeated him. It didn't mean much to her, though; she told him that soon he'd be able to beat her easily, because as they got older, girls became weaker than boys. She was depressed because her father had told her that girls couldn't be master swordsmen. Zoro made her promise that they'd both continue to train until they were better than everyone else; then, they'd duel one last time for the title of Greatest Swordsman in the World.

better than everyone else; then, they'd duel one last time for the title of Greatest Swordsman in the World. Sadly, the next day Zoro found out that Kuina had fallen down the stairs in her home and died. He swore then to fulfill the promise for both of them: he'd become a swordsman so great that his name would be known even in heaven, and Kuina would know that he'd kept his word. He also asked Kuina's father for her sword. He still keeps it; it's the one in clamped in his mouth. Every time he wields her sword, Zoro is reminded of the promise he made to Kuina.
