| Nami is an intelligent, cheeky thief who specializes in robbing pirates. Generally, she uses her intellect (and her looks) to trick her marks out of whatever valuables they might have. Additionally, she is an incredibly skilled navigator, and draws very accurate maps. Zoro and Nami seem to have a strange, almost �sibling-rivalry� dynamic. They argue and antagonize each other�Zoro�s often said he�d like to slice her up�but are more than able to work together when the situation calls for it. They�re definitely not friends; he thinks she�s untrustworthy, she thinks he�s too reckless, and they frankly irritate the hell out of each other. The best way I can think of to define their relationship is that of allies, or possibly associates. They�re together out of necessity, and they�ve come to grudgingly respect each other. They have to be together; that doesn�t mean they have to like it. Love? Strangely enough, I can almost see it. It would definitely be a rocky relationship, though. Passionate, but with a lot of arguments and grudging apologies on both sides. Nami is very independent; she does what she wants, and doesn�t take any guff from anybody, and Zoro is almost exactly the same. They�re both very used to being on their own, and would be reluctant to give that up. Neither would allow themself to be ruled, and both would be struggling for the upper hand in the relationship. I think it would take awhile before they discovered the joys of compromise. That doesn�t mean it would have to be an angsty relationship, though. I think the Nami/Zoro pairing would be a very lighthearted, competitive thing. Pranks, casual insults, that sort of thing. Great smut potential, too. Of course, if you want to be angsty, there�s always Sanji�s reaction to losing his darling Nami-san to that swordsman. There would also have to be a really good reason for them to get together in the first place; so far as I know, neither has shown even the faintest glimmer of interest in the other. (If anyone has any good Zoro/Nami fics�or any good OP fics, really�I�d be happy to archive them�the fanworks section is rather bare.) |
