The Great Love of Serena and Darien

So are you another one of those people who believe that Darien was really mean to Serena and the only reason they ended up together was because they found out about each other?  Well in the manga Darien isn't like that and the two are actually pretty close in the show.

At the begining of the show he seems like he only finds Serena to be an annoying little bug. But if you actually really pay attention he does like her. He always seems to be around, which is odd in it's self. But did you ever notice that when he runs into her he talks to her and then goes back the same way he came? That's odd, unless the only reason he was coming over there was to talk to her. And then in a couple of the episodes he says a bunch of stuff that proves he likes her. In the one with the Star Search, when Luna told Serena she wouldn't go into it with her, Serena went off crying and then bump into him, or rather he seemed to be waiting for her. Then he followed her when she ran away, he said that he thought for sure that she would be at the contest and asked her why she wasn't  since all of her friends were over there making fools of themselves. Not only did he think of her and go over to the contest to see if she was there, he also knows who her friends are.

In the Anne and Alan series he doesn't know about her and tries to protect her anyways.  Also the two of them spend time together on the play and taking care of the baby.  Also the next series after the two know about each other it opens with them spending the day together and going for a boat ride.  They do this as a normal couple and don't act like they just hang out with each other because of their secret identities.  Although we all get mad at Darien for breaking up wilth Serena he does it to protect her and it does hurt him not to be able to be around her (alhtough it made no sense why his future self would want to test his past self.  Wouldn't he know that he loved Serena?)  Anyways that part didn't happen in the manga.
