Eden:Never Fall In Love Author: ANGELBLOOD Rated: R Chapter 2 ------------------ Signs of peace hung throughout the night; a desperate call to anyone or anything willing to listen. She wanted peace; she wanted salvation; she wanted everything, but nothing would come to her... As the moon hung still in the night, a lone figure, drenched in sorrow, walked towards her home. Tired. Alone. So very much alone. Solitude. Wasn't this what she wanted? To be alone? But consequences soon followed this demand. She couldn't stop the flashbacks of her past from invading her already fragile mind. It was haunting her. Her own mind betrayed her, and actually gloated, increasing the bitter feeling of loneliness inside her heart tenfold. Pulling her leather jacket closer to ward against the cool, night air, she began to run off course and head towards the bridge, where she pondered over her troubled thoughts. Leaning on the rail, she gazed sadly at her blurry reflection in the water. "I'm so pathetic." she whispered dejectedly. "Well, well, well. Would ya look at that? Doesn't this place feel like home." Her back stiffened. 'Oh no, not that.' Eyes closed tightly, she shook her head to get rid of the onslaught of certain images, one's in which she'd hoped her mind would forget. Too late. She tried to ward it off, cutting her mind off from the painful memory, but the bitterness, anger, and betrayal all came back with a vengeance. "It's your own fault ya know." her reflection sneered. She looked down at herself. Why was it against her? Why had her mind stabbed her in the back? "How so?" How could any of it be her fault? All Serena ever did was love and care for him. No Dam it! It was not her fault. She tried so very hard to keep him, but in the end it was all fruitless. "You never gave him what he really wanted..." "What the hell is THAT suppose to mean?! I gave him my life, my soul, my heart! It's not my fault he couldn’t keep his dick from fucking another bitch!" She was outraged! What the hell was her conscience trying to get at?! Looking straight back at her, with cold indifferent eyes, her reflection glared, "Yes you did give him everything...everything except for your body. You were such a pathetic little girl, too frightened to be a REAL woman...” Her reflection continued the onslaught "...you've been together for how long? And you still never trusted him. He took it the wrong way. You pushed him further away with your own insecurities. Your own DOUBTS! There is no REALTIONSHIP without trust." it screamed. "I wanted to…I really did! I wanted to be one with him. B-u-u...But I was a fool. I was too scared to let him in." Realizing her own mistakes for the first time, she sank down to the floor and sobbed. "It was my fault...my fault...my fault..." *Flashback* 4:47 P.M. A bubbly college blonde bounced down the streets of Tokyo. With a package in one hand, she jumped up and down, smacking carelessly into innocent bystanders; her beauty radiant under the sun's warm rays, her smile so pure and innocent baring her obvious happy mood. *wham* “Sorry sir, I’m in a rush.” she apologized to the old man she just knocked down, with a curt farewell, she continued on with her mission: reaching Tokyo Inn to see her beloved Seiya. ‘I’m coming honey.' she thought and with a new found strength, she leapt into the air and dashed towards her main goal. The man just kept staring after her, “Kids these days, no respect for their elders.” he shook himself off and continued with his stroll, hoping another crazy blonde wouldn’t knock him down again. *** Serena looked up at the gigantic building, in gold, old English text style writing it read: Tokyo Inn. “Finally, I’m here.” Straightening her posture and checking her appearance in the mirror located on the front doors, she walked into the lobby of Tokyo Inn. Hips swaying, and with a wide smile plastered all over her face, she entered. The door bell rang and the last note hung thick in the air. All eyes turned to see the new intruder. Leering. All she could see were their eyes; some glaring at her, others undressing her with them. She shivered. Brushing them off coldly, she briskly walked towards the secretary. "Seiya Kou’s office please." she said. Nothing. "Seiya Kou’s office please." she tried again. Still nothing. Not even a single glance, the woman just kept typing on the computer. 'Who does this woman think she is?! Does she even know who I am?!' Her stance shook with anger, nearly crushing her gift. "Excuse me Miss. I would like to PLEASE-", stretching the word please, she was getting quite annoyed with this lady, "...see Mr. Kou." her voice taught and demanding. The secretary put a halt to her typing. She looked up, her brow rose in questioning. "And who exactly are you?" she questioned hotly. Serena seethed in anger, 'Why is this lady giving me a hard time.' she thought. "I'm Mrs. Serenity Kou for your information. And if I was you, I would direct me to his office immediately or you'll face dear consequences lady." she threatened, never mind the fact that she just blatantly lied to her, so she wasn't Mrs. Kou so what?! She was going to be in less then 2 weeks. It's probably better to start thinking like Mrs. Kou anyways. 'Wife?!....Really?' The secretary pointed towards the elevators, "Take that up to 15th floor, and take a left, walk straight. There you will see huge doors. That's the entrance to his office, his name is written on the doors, you cannot miss it...Mrs. Kou." Her composure relaxed slightly, 'Finally!' She turned on her heels and headed towards the elevators. 'You're in for a surprise my dear.' The secretary thought. With a final shake of her head, she went back to her typing. *** When she got into the elevator, she squealed like a little school girl. She was so excited to see him; it had been nearly a month. He had been gone for another business meeting over to America to discuss setting up another Tokyo Inn there. Missing him didn’t describe what she felt. It was as if a part of her was gone, and somehow she felt lost. He made her complete. She pleaded with him to take her too, but he shook his head no, and said “Sere, baby, you’ll hate it. It’s boring and all too serious for you.” “But I don’t care, I just want to be with you.” she cried out helplessly. “Hey, don’t worry, I’ll be back in no time, I promise.” he replied. “Ok, I’ll be waiting here for you.” she kissed him goodbye and watched him exit their home from the window, and into a limo that took him away from her to the airport. She was supposed to wait until tonight for him, but she wanted to see him, she missed him. ‘He’ll love this surprise,’ she thought silently looking down at her package. “I can’t wait to see him,” she looked up at the numbers on the elevator, ‘2 more levels till I reach my baby.’ Heels clicking the black marble tiles, Serenity neared Seiya’s office. But she stopped. With an arch of her brow, she listened deeply. Was that moaning she was hearing? She cocked her head to the side, confusion written all over her beautiful features. ‘That can’t be right, he c-can’t..." her last thought never completed. She came up to the door and peered inside. She dropped her gift. Her eyes widen in surprise, and the colour drained from her face. She pushed the door wide open to reveal her worst nightmare. Lying on top of his desk, Seiya had his eyes closed, and a curvaceous red head was on top of him, riding them both to a sweaty peek; her gigantic size breast bouncing up and down. He grabbed her hips roughly and increased their pace. Seiya groaned loudly at the new sensation. They were so into the act, they didn’t even acknowledging a certain blonde staring at them in mortification. He then reached for her breasts and skillfully massaged them until they were hard little pecks, Beryl moaned loudly. With a last thrust into her, they both reached their climaxes, Beryl sighed deeply. Seiya grunted loudly and collapsed back onto the desk. Serena just stood there, her hand over her mouth and her eyes filled with pain. Beryl opened her eyes and screamed. Only this was not a sound of ecstasy, but rather one of surprise, she pushed off of him and looked on. Seiya quickly rolled off of the desk and lunged forward. He stood straight up on his feet in moments, and cursed who ever disturbed the peace he usually got after his release. He turned around and his heart sank at who was standing there, mouth agape. For a moment Serenity just stared stupidly at his naked body, and then her eyes moved towards the red head trying frantically to cover her body with the sheets of papers. HA! Covering herself should be the last thing on her mind! Then she looked up into Seiya’s startled face and surprised eyes. She shook her head in disbelief, her eyes watering immediately. ‘Why...why?!’ her mind couldn't comprehend, all rational thoughts just flew out the window. Seiya dashed forward in search of her hands. He grabbed them and began to stutter, “S-Sere, i-it’s n-not w-wha-” “It’s not what I think. It’s not what I THINK! You…she…UGH!” She paced back and forth. Serena looked at the women. Rage filled her usual calm eyes. “What’s your name.” she seethed through clenched teeth. The woman just looked at Serenity defiantly. A few minutes passed, and in a snickering voice, replied, “Beryl.” She stuck her nose up, and watched the girl intently; she was not going to be intimidated by this small child. ‘So this is Seiya’s fiancée,’ she thought. She eyed Serenity up and down. ‘No wonder he came to me. I knew Seiya needed a real woman rather than this little girl’, she laughed inwardly. Serena seethed, her hands wanting so badly to strangle that whore's neck. She turned back to her now EX-fiancé and slapped him…hard. Taking a few steps backwards, she turned around and tried to flee the scene but Seiya, ignoring the stinging of his red cheek, grabbed her by her wrist before she could run. Seiya jerked her around, but instead of seeing anger, he saw the true damage he'd conflicted in her. Here eyes were brimmed with unshed tears, and betrayal. “Please, Sere...baby...it’s not what you think, really.” he pleaded desperately. “Beryl, drugged me. I thought it was you who I was with.” he looked on in hopes of her believing his lies. He really did not intend for this to happen and did not want to lose her. Beryl gaped. What the hell?! How dare he use her like this! She grabbed her things and left. ‘I’ll be back. No one makes a fool out of ME.’ was her last thought before she slammed the door. Serena just kept looking at him in disbelief. Who did he think she was? Some mindless twit who would come crawling back to him just because he told a few lies? Why was this happening to her? “Why?” she muttered. “I loved you with everything I had. I would have given you the world. I constantly was by your side, and you cheat on me?” she looked on in disbelief; somehow she couldn’t grasp what was happening, her world had just fallen apart. “I-I-” was his reply before she cut him off with a wave of her hand, and the dread reality sunk in to him, he was not going to get her back, nothing would ever be the same again. SMACK! He staggered back from the blow of her hands. He turned his face around to look at her blankly. He moved his right hand up to his now red right cheek and held it, trying to subdue the pain. “You know what, keep her and everything else. We’re through.” She turned around and fled. But before she could get away, he grabbed her hand once again. “I’m so sorry, please forgive me. We can work this out, I love you baby.” he pleaded. “Love? LOVE?! You don’t even know what the meaning of the word is, otherwise you would have never done this to me...to US!” she screamed the last part out. And with a final look of despair, she ran. She ran long and hard. Instead of taking the elevator, she took the stairwell. The faster she could get away from here, the better. As long as she was away from HIM and everything, she would be fine—at least that was what she'd hoped. Serenity reached the lobby area and stopped. She looked around, quickly scanning the area for the exit. She looked to her left, then to her right, and finally spotted the exit. She passed the secretary just catching the pity look that was directed at her from the corner of her eye. Pushing past people, she finally escaped the hell hole. Cool air brushed her now soaked face causing goosebumps to form along her arms. She halted in her position, sucking in air greedily. She straightened her back and tried to smooth her appearance. When she looked up after picking out invisible lint off her blouse, she noticed people gazing at her oddly, she turned around and took a REAL good look in the mirror--mascara marks trailed a path down her face, her hair that was tied up in a French bun was now ruined, some tendrils falling out of place. She looked horribly bad. Avoiding their questionable stares, she took off once again but this time in the opposite direction, the park. Seiya stood at the large window in his office and looked on at the blonde running through the streets like some maniac. “I’m sorry Serena.” he turned around and proceeded to clean the mess he and Beryl had made. *** Night had fallen soon after; Serenity entered the now empty park. Her shaken form slowly walked over to the bridge, she collapsed on top once she felt the rail under her upper body. Tears of pain slid down her distraught face and onto the river below. She gazed at her reflection, “Awful!” she spat at herself. “Oh god, why me, why?” she sobbed brokenly as she slid down the rail onto the floor. She cried, cried out all her pain. The pain of loosing her parents, loosing her fiancé, but most of all, the pain of knowing that she would never be the same again, of not really ever expressing love or having the feeling returned. It was in that state of being that she had decided, she would neither search for nor find love ever again, and slowly her body seeped into the darkened, cold abyss. *** How long had she'd been there? She didn't know. The only thing that she was able to comprehend was that now she was snuggled under Mina's arms, sobbing over and over again like a broken record, each sob more painful then the other. Each sob filled with more grief and agony than the other. How Mina had gotten there and comforting her was way past her mind, and she didn't care. For now she would embrace this feeling and for the last time ever show her true feelings to another. Amidst her sobs and Mina's soothing whispers, she could faintly hear the city clock bonging loudly, indicating that it was midnight. *End of flashback* *** Serena looked at the river, how things had. After she was done crying, Mina had taken her to her own apartment; it had taken Serena 2 weeks of hell to recover. She was always a nervous, whining wreck, but now her feelings were hidden behind a cold, uncaring mask; rarely ever seen. She never showed any feelings or remorse towards anyone. She hardly cried and had rarely ever smiled, a real full smile, which would express her true self. She was still gazing at her reflection. A tear slipped out of her eyes and splashed down on her image. "Isn't love pathetic? Useless? A waste of complete time?" she cried upwards to the heavenly skies. "People spend all their lives wishing to find love and to be loved, only to realize it was all in VAIN!" She was beyond furious, she wanted answers and she wanted them now, "What is the point of loving if it only costs you your happiness and even sometimes your life, God?" Silence. She waited and waited. Nothing. The river still flowed gently down the stream; the crickets still chirped...nothing. She continued, pouring her heart and sorrow into each word, "Books tell that love prevails all. Everyone tells you that love overcomes all. But in reality, it never does. It's just a sweet sickening feeling that one goes through life after life. Only a few are chosen for the true happiness to win, and the rest live in utter sadness." she lowered her voice, "Why risk everything you have for that silly thing called love?...It's not worth it." "Well no more." she deadpanned. After that final promise, she snuggled deeper in her jacket and began the trek back to her home. *** Gods she was tired. Her feet ached from her night out and the long, agonizing walk home. With her thoughts in dismay, her feet aching, Serena's slumped form tiredly opened the door to her apartment suite and silently crept in. Carelessly, she threw the keys on the small Victorian table beside the door, shrugging off her jacket, not really caring where it landed, she plopped herself lifelessly onto the leather couch Mina had bought for her as a gift. She turned to her right and on the lamp table saw a picture of her friends. Guilt crept slowly into her heart. She blatantly yelled at them that she wanted to be alone when they offered to go along with her. They knew something was wrong with her, but she didn't need their help; she was totally fine. Now remembering their rejected faces, their shocked features, she was regretting it. She didn't mean to sound so harsh and uncaring, but she wanted to be alone, plain and simple. “Ugh”, she groaned out loud rubbing her temples in a circular motion trying to relieve herself from the inevitable headache. ‘Please don’t get a headache, please don’t get a headache’, she chanted over and over again in her head. But as usual, her desperate pleas didn’t reach the good faith. “Damn it!” she said through clenched teeth. After lying on the couch aimlessly for a few minutes, her mind trying in vain to calm her pulsing headache, she finally decided it was due time to get up. She reached down and slowly took her boots off one after the other, as if it were the hardest thing to do in the world. "Almost there," she encouraged herself, "Just a bit further,” With a last tug she managed to take off her first boot. 'Now for the other one.' she giggled inwardly. This was ridiculous. “There...phew!” After struggling with the second one, she sat back just relaxing and observing her surroundings. She never really had the chance to look over the place that she had just purchased 3 weeks ago. This place was truly beautiful. She stood up and walked ever so slowly to the bathroom to wash up a bit. Richly appointed marble tiles, a whirlpool bath, customized digital water temperature controls, and a full line of personal care amenities were just a few of the luxury’s the Tokyo Sky had offered. She turned on the tap water, and began washing her face clean of everything. When she looked in the mirror, she didn't like what stared back at her. She scrubbed hard, real hard. Her face began to sting from her brutal hands. She felt dirty somehow. Minutes later, and her face now raw, she toweled herself dry. She straightened her posture and looked back again, turning her face from side to side, she was a bit placated that she managed to cover herself up once again; all she needed was a cold dose of water and a few shakes. She didn't like when others saw trough her. She put the towel back and walked out. She sighed tiredly and began walking to her left towards her haven, taking once again notice of the other rooms (4 in total). She traced the wallpapered walls. Her toes stretched themselves out. It was all was luxurious, but it was missing the homey feel. Weren't homes supposed to be homey? But hers felt cold, empty. "It's just another place for me to occupy in the meantime." she rationalized. Something caught her eye. She stopped. She turned and walked into the 3rd room as if entranced by the light dancing playfully on her velvet carpet. She pushed back the plush velour robes adorning the top to bottom windows, and gazed at the moon. 'So magical,' she thought. She didn’t want to move, she loved to stare out at the moon. Her childhood fantasy was brought back. Oh how she wished she could fly away to the moon. How magical and wondrous it seemed from her position in her dimly lit apartment. Minutes passed by, and with a final sigh, she turned right back around and once again headed for her room She grabbed the knob and turned it, entering her favorite domain. Her room, her refuge, her sanctuary, it symbolized the other side of her, the side no one else ever saw. When she first started decorating this room, she began thinking of what she'd always loved and fantasized about, the moon and stars. No one, not even her best friends had a glimpse of her room. She didn't want everyone seeing into her. It was an open window into her soul. Anything and everything she loved was in here. With a final sigh, she threw her entire being onto the bed. This was absolute bliss. “Meow” “Luna…come here girl,” she beckoned. Luna jumped on the bed and lay beside her master. “How’s my girl doing?” she asked, scratching the sensitive spot she knew under her left ear. Luna purred in satisfaction. “Mmm, you like that, huh.” she said. She only replied with more purrs. She grabbed her feline companion. Looking at Luna sadly, she questioned, “Luna, tell me, am I that terrible?” “Meow,” Luna replied as if understanding what she had just asked. “I thought so too.” she merrily replied. It seemed as if Luna understood her like no other, ever since she had found her when she was sixteen, it was like finding her other half though it might sound a bit crazy. Luna understood her plain and simple. She couldn't have asked for a more delightful listening partner. And listening was just what she needed. She nuzzled her belly playfully. *grumble* Luna looked at her guilty, she laughed, “Hungry, are we?” She just nodded in reply. “Me too…let’s go get something to eat.” Realizing her own hunger, Serena quickly got up and changed into her pink rabbit printed pajamas. How sad was this, a 22 year old in pink rabbit printed pj’s? ‘Oh well.’ she thought When she was done changing and straightening herself, they both quickly raced into the French designed spacious kitchenette. She opened the fridge and got herself leftovers from last night’s dinner, and then, poured Luna her cat food into the container she had placed in front of her earlier. Serena grabbed her night snack and headed for the living room, she intended on spending the night alone; while at other times she would have male company over, tonight seemed different somehow, she couldn’t really explain it. She indolently threw herself onto the leather couch, and began the wonderful process of devouring her meal. *30 minutes later* Her belly full and her mind at ease, she grabbed the remote control and decided that maybe TV was a good option right now. It would at least give her the opportunity to focus on something else. Surfing through the channels, she couldn't find anything to watch. "Well what do you expect when it's past 1 am?" Then something caught her attention. "That's the guy!" She stared at the commercial intently. *“It seems as if no one can handle Darien Shields, he now owns 100% Shields Inc., a company his late father use to run. Tune in for an exclusive interview at 6:00 pm tomorrow.”* *click* Serena turned to her side and dwelled on him, the guy from the club…Darien Shields. *Flashback* “Damn, it must be a sin to look that good,” hollered Lita “Looks like we’ve found our next victims.” she said eyeing the one with long wavy brown hair. “Lita, would you stop staring so bluntly, it’s not nice.” warned Ami. “You’re one to talk, I saw how you looked at that one with long blonde hair, Ames, so don't deny it.” she winked. Ami blushed professedly; she’d been caught. This caused everyone at the table to laugh, the sweet reserved Ami, who detested men in general, was actually loosing it; classic. Ami just glared at all of them and moved towards the bar, she hated to be the center of their childish behavior. The laughter died down, and they were back to their previous thoughts that centered on those lovely devils that had just entered. “Serena?” questioned Mina. She looked at her long time friend and wondered what was going through her mind. She didn’t even laugh at what happened just a minute ago with Ami! Mina continued to look on worriedly. “The guy with ebony hair is mine.” she said in a monotone voice. Mina raised her brow in surprise. That was unusual. It usually took her a week to pick a guy. Mina eyed her friend and followed her gaze to the target. "Sizing him up, I see." she voiced. "Yup." she replied, not really paying attention. He was now her territory, and she was scrutinizing him. “Eden.” Mina whispered so softly, barley reaching the ears of her best friends. Eden was thought out and planned by Serena; a simple game that determined whether you were actually meant for this world. A game that determined whether you are the hunter or the one being hunted; Eden was a game…notice the WAS. Now it was for keeps, it was life in itself. Eden became part of their lives, a way of living and was imbedded in their hearts and minds. Eden symbolized everything that was sinful, a highly addicted ecstasy. Eden not only was a strategy tool to use against womanizers, but it also determined your heart, for in this cruel and sadistic world, there was none. How to win? Simple, well it used to be; never fall in love. For when you do, it will surely lead to your end. That's what Serena at least believed. Mina loved love, and she wouldn't mind falling in love with the right guy, but she was afraid. Ah yes, fear, the one thing that truly was a good and a bad entity of life. Yes, she was definitely afraid. Afraid of turning out just like Serena. She loved Serena, but she didn't want to be like Serena, a cold, bitter woman who hadn't felt in a long time. Mina sighed. Oh how she remembered it well, the night when Serena became a lifeless being. She had spent her every wake near her. Seiya really broke her heart. Every time she looked at her, she felt a pang of sympathy. It had been 2 weeks before Serena emerged from her depressed state, and she seemed back to her old self. Boy was she wrong! There was something different about her, something almost lost. She seemed like her old self, but it looked superficial. On the same night, about 2 years ago was when she introduced Eden. She demonstrated a living failure. She provoked them, and on that day, a heated argument ensued. She told them her plans, never to marry and certainly never to love. Told them to never let a man rule their heart, a lesson she had painfully learned the hard way. While they were all shocked at her sudden declaration, they couldn't help but agree. She was a part of them, whatever she felt they felt. But they'd hope that one day, this Eden would stop. Pleasure was all fun, but too much of it wasn't. Forming a pact, they all silently agreed to play, and that was the night Eden started, midnight on Friday. “Ooooooo-weeee, look at that fine piece of ass!” Lita hollered loudly. Mina awoke from her train of thought. Count on Lita to be loud and blunt about everything. “Ok Sere, it’s your turn,” said Rei. She turned around and faced her friend, “Who will it be this time?” “That one.” she pointed to the ebony haired man she’d been staring at throughout the night. Something about him irked her in a way; she was so drawn to him. As soon as he entered, all previous thoughts exited her mind. Rei frowned. "Why the sudden interest?" she asked. Shrugging, she replied, "He just screams: screw me!" They all snickered. Ok maybe that was partial truth, in reality something about him excited yet annoyed her. Her body didn't felt like hers anymore, it was betraying her. He looked positively divine; she suddenly had an aching to hold him close. What the?! Squashing down her newly acquired feelings, she got up. 'It's time to see him up and close.' She turned back towards her friends, all giving her their attention faithfully. “Excuse me guys, I have to talk with my,” she cleared her throat, “…next victim.” They all smirked. She got up and left the table. “Go get him tiger!” yelled Lita from behind. Serena smiled viciously walking towards the unsuspecting player, ‘Oh I will.’ She wanted to know why her entire being reacted this way towards this man, she didn't even know him! She was panting from afar like a trained bitch. She'd never had this much lust for anyone. Yes lust, that's what she'd felt, nothing more. Serenity neared her opponent. She breathed in his heavenly scent, his back towards her. She pressed her chest onto it. He tensed. His muscles contracting at the sudden intimate contact. “Hey lover.” She purred into his ear, her smoldering breath lightly fanning his skin. He shivered in response. He turned around. Serenity backed up and took a good look at his face. She gasped. Blue met blue. ------------------ Firstly, I apologize for the long wait on updates, I really am. But ever since I put up chapter 1, life has been nothing but hell. Thanks for those who still wait patiently for this. It will def. pay off in the end. Secondly, I know this is a slow process but it's over, and now expect a different chapter. I felt I had to change these 2 chapters and revise it. I've actually grown *smiles* Sorry no Darien yet, but all in due time. I hope you like this version better, I certainly do. I would like to thank SparklngDiamund/QueenFroggy (SD) for editing this. You truly save me. No seriously. She’s like my God! *ravishes SD to death* Thirdly, thank you so much for your kind reviews. I keep going through them when I get down or have no inspiration. It really means a lot. I am intent on finishing this, when is still vague. I'm stopping the votes now b/c it's clear whose story you want me to write next. In order, Mina/Mal, Lita/Neph, Rei/Jed, and finally Ami/Zoi. Thank you again, please keep your comments coming, it truly helps. Until the next chapter!
