Eden:Never Fall In Love Author: ANGELBLOOD Rated: R Fighter by Christina Aguilera www.azlyrics.com Here’s a more edited first chapter. I would like to personally thank QueenFroggy/SparklngDiamund for editing it. She’s my new editor, you’re the greatest ^^;; Chapter 1 ------------------ After all you put me through You'd think I'd despise you But in the end I want to thank you Because you made me that much stronger The cool night air flooded the grand city of Tokyo. Stars are twinkling in the night sky like little diamonds. Trees gently sway to the cool breeze as if performing a dance of peace. Ocean waves crash against the mountainous rocks; it was a sight to behold. Children were tucked in bed for school early in the morning, dreaming in their sound beds of heroic princes saving damsels in distress. The night air filled with the urgent calm of perfection… Club tranquility classified perfection in the blaring, hypnotic music that flared through gigantic speakers. Hundreds of bodies littered the dance floor, grinding in a rhythmic motion...up and down, up and down, not caring whom they were straddling. Lights of different colours flashed brightly and smoke filled the floor of the hot new club that just opened; anybody who was anyone would show for tonight’s grand opening. Men and women alike pooled the sidewalls of the club, with their tongues down each other’s throats. Drinking, smoking, partying, just plain having outrageous fun, and in the center of all of this chaos danced 5 girls, all letting the music flow through them. They say music is therapy, that sweet melody is and will always be heavenly to no one except for one’s own ears. But in this case, the music drummed through every single person to the near point of making them go daft. This type of music was just what they wanted, needed, thrived upon. For one night they could forget about anything and everything. For one night they could forget about the world, and just be themselves.… When I, thought I knew you Thinking, that you were true I guess I, I couldn't trust Called your bluff, time is up 'Cause I've had enough You were, there by my side Always, down for the ride But your, joy ride just came down in flames 'Cause your greed sold me out of shame, mmhmm “Guys, could we go and sit down, my feet are starting to hurt.” said a tired Ami. With 3 inch blue platforms, she was amazed at her own stamina for dancing this long. Her eyes scanned the crowd, noticing a few men who'd eyed her ever since she had entered with her friends. Shaking her head inwardly, Ami began to head towards their table. Her attire was being emphasized by the colourful lasers. She chose to wear a tight fitting midnight sparkling leather tank top, with an incredibly short matching skirt. Lazily she sat down on the stool and raked a hand through her short cropped black hair with midnight highlights. Ami never would have agreed to this sort of thing, but after countless of hours spent listening to the badgering and coaxing from her friends in her well kept apartment, she finally gave in and agreed. Lord knows why though. Liar. Of course she knew the reasons for her sudden appetite for naughtiness. Only one word could sum it all: stress. She needed something to do to relieve of it. For weeks she’d been working on this paper for the university. She wanted to get away from the pressures of succeeding, away from the pressures of her parents. She wanted, no needed, to forget every single damn thing that was in her perfect clean cut life. The emptiness. The misery. The depression. Her friends understood this; they knew her better than anyone. “Sure, I’m getting tired myself.” replied an equally exhausted Mina following Ami's example. She on the other hand was a lot more provocative. She wore a tight golden dress that shimmered in the moonlight. It was beautiful but it barely reached her thighs and she wore matching heels to complete the ensemble. Her pale creamy skin was covered in gold sparkles. She looked and felt like a million bucks. She definitely went all out tonight and wouldn't hold back. That was her rule in life...to live. Mina was always like this. She didn’t care what anyone thought of her. Her part-time job as a model helped a lot. It was no picnic being a model though. She had to constantly watch her weight, but that didn’t mean she had to listen all the time. Once in a while, she would just damn it all to hell and chow down even worse then Serena. After all of the stealing and cheating You probably think that I hold resentment for you But, uh uh, oh no, you're wrong 'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through So I wanna say thank you “Mina, how could you wear that dress?” asked Lita once she got to their table. She couldn’t understand Mina’s fashion tastes. Gold? Yuk! “Speak for yourself girl!” said Mina eyeing her from top to bottom. Lita chose to wear dark green hip-huggers with a tight fitting green tube-top. “I dressed to impress.” was her comical reply waving at the waiter to come and take their orders. He came over and stopped. His eyeballs jumped from their socks, and he could just imagine what a fool he looked like. He couldn’t breathe. These girls were no doubt the most gorgeous females he’d ever seen in his life. He wanted to speak, but he couldn’t find the strength to even do that simple task. Lita noticing his obvious difficulties answered the question he was supposed to ask, “Bacardi straight up for all of us.” she finished winking at him. His face all of a sudden became hot and probably looked red. So he wouldn’t make another fool out of himself, he made a hasty retreat. ‘Another bore.’ she thought as she watched the waiter walk away with their orders placed. ‘Too bad. Maybe I could teach him a few pointers later on.’ The corners of her rouge lips began to slide upwards into a smirk. Her eyes held a glint of humour in them. Lita lived on the edge, never letting anyone get in her way. To say that she was more wild and fierce like an animal than a human being was an understatement. Lita thrived on being her own woman. She loved being in control, and had never lost that self-confidence in her. Throughout the entire University, Lita was known for her abilities in bed. Men often sought her out for just one romp in her bed and then later on, would seek their friends and howl like cavemen about how wonderful of a playmate she was. Though she was loved by men, females were a different case. Women would often send death threats to her, but would never follow through with them. They didn’t like her, but they didn’t want a black eye either. It was wrong, but who was there to stop her? And besides, all she wanted was one night of blind passion without any emotional attachments. Their constant gloating always got too big to even see the truth; she was playing them, never the other way around. 'Cause it makes me that much stronger Makes me work a little bit harder It makes me that much wiser So thanks for making me a fighter Made me learn a little bit faster Made my skin a little bit thicker Makes me that much smarter So thanks for making me a fighter Ohh, ohh, ohh, ohhhh, ohh-yeah ah uhhhuh Lita was a rogue. A lonely, uncaring rogue, but that all changed when she met Serena and the rest of the girls. Before, she would laugh at such foolishness as emotions and caring. Why should she? She hated it and besides, emotions were for the weak. She was definitely no weakling. She didn’t need the world and the world didn’t need her. Why would it when all it did was cause her nothing but heart ache, despair and trouble? To everyone else she was known as the bitch from hell, but Serena, Ami, Rei and Mina saw through her cold demeanor and showed her that she wasn’t alone after all. “LITA, must you always flirt with every fucking guy we come across? Would you mind stopping, it’s getting ANNOYING!” screamed Rei. She was getting pretty uncomfortable in her tight blood red tank top and blood red leather pants; the heels weren’t helping a lot either. She brushed back her raven hair. ‘These things just kill your feet.’ she thought, still annoyed. She looked up, and smiled knowingly. ‘Rei,’ she thought. ‘You were just like me.’ Indeed, before Rei met Serena, she was a major loner too. She never cared for anyone except for her grandfather. Rei loved her peaceful life. But unknowingly, she would gaze at the other schoolgirls as she walked home from school and would wish any one of them would start talking to her or at least say hi. For Pete’s sake they all saw each other everyday and even have some classes together! But no one did and as a result people would suspect of false accusations. They never talked to her and she never made the effort because of rejections, so she stayed away. Combined with their insensitive gossip and Rei’s quiet nature resulted in their inaccurate perception of her. To them she was a snooty, know-it-all, who didn’t care for anybody. How wrong they were. Then one day, a 15-year-old Serena just came up to Rei while she swept the Shrine floors and suggested, “You know…doing too many chores is bad for your health.” smiling brightly at her. Rei couldn’t help it, she started laughing. Serena’s ears perked at the sound of her laugh full of mirth and joy. She finally found someone to talk to other then her grandpa. “Geez, what the fuck is up your ass Rei?” asked Lita. “Oh don’t mind pyro here, she’s just mad cuz’ she hasn’t gotten Chad to bed her yet…looks like your losin’ your touch Rei.” Mina, Lita and Ami all groaned in annoyance and prepared their little brains for the upcoming battle between Rei and Serena. Rei turned towards her best friend and glared at her comment. Serena sat back eagerly waiting for the verbal spout they were going to get in. Serena was always like this; always the cheerful one, the heart of their group but sometimes a little pest who would start fights by adding her two cents in at the end. And usually her little 2 cents would come after Rei had said something. Nobody really knew why though. She yawned and stood to pull her skirt even higher than its mid-thigh position. She decided to wear the same thing as Ami, but all black saying something about her wanting to blend in with the dark atmosphere. The outfit was perfect for her. It not only went great with her silver/blonde long hair, but also fit her like a second skin bringing great attention to her amazing figure. Never, saw it coming All of, your backstabbing Just so, you could cash in On a good thing before I realized your game I heard, you're going around Playing the victim now But don't, even begin “Shut it Meatball head--” “Awwwwwwwww, what’s the matter Rei…did I hurt your feelings?” “Bitch” “Slut” “Rei, Serena, stop this argument right NOW! You’re not going to ruin this night for all of us with your pointless bickering…and any how Serena, you haven’t gotten Diamond yet.” commented Ami, arching a brow. Serena shut her mouth quickly and then tried for a come back but she couldn’t say anything. How could she? Everything that Ami had said was true, she hadn’t gotten her latest conquest Diamond. This of course caused everyone at the table to laugh hysterically. At first she was fuming with anger, but soon joined in. She could never stay mad at her friends; they were like family to her, ever since her parents died 3 years ago. Her parents. Serena sighed, half of sadness half longing to see them again. Her parents were the best. Her dad owned his own company, Peterson Inc--one of the biggest business corporations at his time. They would spoil her to no ends. She had always gotten what she ever she wanted, but never turned out like the rest of those rich snobby girls…nope, not Serena. She hated those girls at her high school. All they ever did was putting down unfortunate others and gossip on the latest fashions. They would walk around school as if they were kings and queens and kicked down anybody who was below their social status. Even though she was rich, she never thought that way. She would help anyone who needed it and would talk to those who were considered as ‘losers’. One day they were coming home from a business gala, when their car was in an accident caused by a drunk driver…sad to say they never made it out alive. This left a permanent mark on her life. She was so depressed after their death. She was left with no one now. She had nothing at all. Her sweet loving parents were gone. She couldn’t believe it. Nothing, absolutely nothing. No money in the world could ever and would never bring her back from the ‘dead’ as so many people had called her sudden change in life. And they were amazed that she had recovered. She had to sell the business of course because she didn’t know how to run it and never thought her parents would die. Now she was in Tokyo University with her best friends. Feeling I'm the one to blame 'Cause you dug your own grave After all of the fights and the lies Yes you wanted to harm me but that won't work anymore Uh, no more, oh no, it's over 'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture I wouldn't know how to be this way now, and never back down So I wanna say thank you She met Rei, Ami, and Mina in high school, but Lita in Tokyo University. Even though Lita joined in later on, it felt as if they all somehow knew each other and instantly became best friends. She thought back to the week before the crash, telling her mom how she loved to design and would like to get into interior designing. Her mom was so happy and glad that she changed her mind about actually going to university. She also remembered when her dad gave her advice to never give up and always follow your heart. ‘Mom, dad, I miss you so much.’ she thought sadly, but it wasn’t so bad, not when her friends were there every step of the way. They were always there for her and Rei was like a sister to her. No matter how many times they argued, she could and would never hold a grudge against them. Even though it’s been such a long time since their deaths, she hadn’t fully recovered. This emptiness wouldn’t fill no matter what she did, no matter what others had said. She felt utterly alone. ‘No thanks to him,’ Serena thought bitterly. ‘No, no…I will NOT think of HIM…he’s dead to me too.’ Her eyes glazed over in remembrance. “Sere, you ok?” looking up, she was met by a pair of worried violet eyes. She really was lucky and thankful, no she would not think of HIM and she wasn’t alone…her friends would never allow that to happen. Plastering on a smile at her hot-tempered friend, “Yes P-Y-R-O…I’ll be fine.” she finished. “Why you—” she was cut off by her friend’s smile. Even though she knew it wasn’t really a happy smile, her worrying began to decrease, but just a tad bit. She knew exactly what Serena was thinking. How could you not? Her big azure eyes were like a window to her soul. It was once filled with happiness and a light that would only be considered love, but now…it was empty, almost hollow. After the incident, she never showed any feelings towards anyone, rarely even to her friends. Yes those eyes now belonged to the oh-so elusive temptress, the one who broke hearts like it was trash. True she’s done the same thing to lots of guys, but at least she was careful on how to let them down. She made sure that this was a night of fucking, nothing more and nothing less. Not like Serena though…she would sleep with them and leave. Just like that, never looking back. Never even worrying whether they fell in love with her, ‘…like Drew.’ she thought silently. Her body, that once held a bright glowing aura, now was dark, seductive and cold. No matter what they tried to do, they could never break down that cold barrier that she built last year. ‘All thanks to HIM,’ she thought angrily and sighed. ‘Why did you do it…Seiya?’ 'Cause it makes me that much stronger Makes me work a little bit harder Makes me that much wiser So thanks for making me a fighter Made me learn a little bit faster Made my skin a little bit thicker It makes me that much smarter So thanks for making me a fighter *Flashblack* “Sere, you are like an angel sent from the heavens above…you’ve filled my world with happiness and I’m so lucky to have you in it,” He got down on one knee. “And I would be honoured if you would be my wife…will you marry me?” Seiya pleaded with those big dark eyes of his, hoping she would say yes. ‘I can’t believe it!’ Serena thought. Tears blurred her sight. Her heart was beating so fast and hard. How could this man I thought I knew Turn out to be unjust so cruel Could only see the good in you Pretended not to see the truth You tried to hide your lies, disguise yourself Through living in denial But in the end you'll see YOU-WON'T-STOP-ME ‘Finally!’ she closed her eyes and flung herself into his awaiting arms. “Yes, yes.” she chanted in his ears over and over again. Seiya picked her up and twirled her around. She finally could settle down with the man she loved…the one that had already conquered heart. *End of flashback* “You-who…earth to Serena, come in Serena.” Mina said as she waved her hand furiously in front of her best friend’s face. Minutes ticked by awaiting a response from her. I am a fighter and I I ain't goin' stop There is no turning back I've had enough “Uhhh…oh, sorry guys,” answered Serena breaking out of her stupider, “I just spaced out for minute there.” She laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of her head. She stopped when she heard the tenseness in Ami’s voice and the obvious worry. “You’ve been doing that a lot lately, anything the matter Sere?” Ami fowned. “Nothing…it’s nothing, really, just a bit tired is all.” she replied sheepishly as she lowered her eyes from her. Serena knew if she were to make eye contact with Ami, then she would be able to tell that she was lying and that she was still thinking of HIM. “Hey guys, it’s that time again!” chirped Lita. They all were grateful to her for relieving the awkward silence. They all checked their watches... *midnight* It’s that time again…time to play Eden. ‘Eden’ ‘Eden’ ‘Eden’ ‘Eden’ ‘Eden.’ they all thought simultaneously. 'Cause it makes me that much stronger Makes me work a little bit harder Makes me that much wiser So thanks for making me a fighter Made me learn a little bit faster Made my skin a little bit thicker It makes me that much smarter So thanks for making me a fighter “So who’s going to be the lucky guys this year—” Mina was cut off as she saw five guys walking into the club. Her heart paused for a moment, drinking in the sight that lay in front of her. Every man looked like a god! They all had the same type of aura around them… strong… sexy…confident…masculine. Her eyes widened immensely, ‘HOLY SHIT!’ “Mina, you in there?” asked Serena waving her hand in front of her. A few minutes passed by and still she said nothing. She looked like a fish with her mouth wide open like that. “What’s up with her?” she asked the others, they all just shrugged. Mina pointed her finger towards the group of boys…no men. Slowly one by one, they all turned around to look at what Mina was pointing at and what made her speechless. ‘Wow!’ thought Ami, Lita and Rei. ‘Sexy…I like.’ thought Serena, eyeing the one with ebony hair. Her eyes danced in appreciation of his form. She smirked. 'Cause it makes me that much stronger Makes me work a little bit harder Makes me that much wiser So thanks for making me a fighter Made me learn a little bit faster Made my skin a little bit thicker It makes me that much smarter So thanks for making me a fighter ‘Never again,’ her last thought and clear objective ringing clearly in her mind before she turned towards the girls and in a cold voice said, “Let the games begin.” ------------------ This is a S/D pairing. It’s the 1st series of the Eden Series. Each series will be pairing these couples: M/M, N/L, A/Z and R/J. I decided to do the Generals b/c I find them more suitable to the Senshi’s then the “normal” folks (ie. Andrew, Chad, Ken, and Greg). Please tell me how I did for my first story via review, e-mail: lady_angelblood@hotmail.com, or PM. I will greatly appreciate it, thank you.
