Onyx killed her father when he tried to rape her, and didn't realize that when she killed her father, it would earn her the right to his army. Her father had the Persian, Japanese, and the Huns under him, and he had his loyalty shifted toward Ares, who reluctantly granted Onyx permission and rights to the over-all Commander.
Onyx was given to Siva as a bride from birth, so when the Hindu God of Destruction found out his 'wife' was following the Greek God of War, he set out to destroy him. Onyx stopped him and told him about all what happened. Siva and Ares settled the problem by still allowing Onyx to marry Siva, but her patron god was to be Ares. She still serves him loyally and will kill just about anyone who speaks wrong of him.
Onyx has an explosive temper that few have actually witnessed. She will lash out at about anyone who talks wrong of her family or her patron god. She is mostly quiet and doesn't care what others believe. Onyx doesn't tolerate people voicing their opinions on her 'servant-hood' to the God of War. She is a respected samurai of Japan and one of the top-ranking Champions of Ares.
