SF:  Why and when did you start writing creatively?
SW: First let me thank the Silver Fox for having me.To answer your question, I began writing in 1996. I was a  huge fan of romance novels. I always felt that I could write one of my own. Finally I got the nerve to just sit down and do it.

SF:  Where do you get the inspiration for your stories ?

SW:   Just every day life, people, events, or an idea just comes to mind. I put it on paper. The rest is history.

SF:  Are there parts of you contained in your works?
SW:   I believe as writers there is always a little bit if not all included in our work.

SF: Do you identify with any one particular character?
If so how?

SW:   I can identify a little bit with all of my characters, no one in particular.

SF: What genre(s) are you most comfortable with?
SW: Romance, Mystery is my first choice..But I can be comfortable with all genres.

SF: Where do you hope to see your creative career go?
SW:   I would love to write for a soap opera, do some work on a sitcom-something a long that line

SF: Have your life experiences influenced your work?
If so,  how?

SW: Not at all. My life experience as a whole is completely different from who I am. I guess that's why I'm a  writer.

SF: What, if anything, would you like to share about you, the person?
SW: Just that I'm a laid back person, approachable. I like to laugh and have fun. I love watching old black&white movies, and watch pro-basketball (Smile)

SF: How has your transition to publication gone?
SW: Very smoothly. My novels are published through my own company, Lady Leo Publishing, therefore, I'm in control of everything. The response from my novels has gone well. A lot better that I expected.

SF: What would you like to do differently the next time?

SW: Nothing. If I didn't get rejected by traditional publishing houses, I never would have gotten the nerve to go out on my own. You know what they say, everything in life happens for a reason.

SF: To whom do you seek advice and / or support from?
SW: Different editors, authors, and publicists who has been in this business for a while. I begin my writing career, writing short stories for confessions magazines, therefore, I've gotten to know quite a few people. They all have been very supportive.

SF: When can your fans expect to enjoy your work again?

SW:  My next novel is titled, It's In The Rhythm and will be released in February 2006. It tells the story of: R&B singer Garrett Martindale is at the top of the music charts. The son of a Baptist preacher, he travels home for a relaxing two weeks, but the trip home is  far from relaxing. His father is determined for him to return to his gospel roots,  his sister is keeping a secret from the family, and the woman he loves becomes  engaged to another man.

SF: How can your fans reach you?

SW: Readers can visit my website at: www.ladyleopublishing.com

Email: [email protected]

SF: What books / poetry / artwork have you read / seen lately that you would like to recommend?
SW:  I haven't been able to read any books lately.

SF: What is your idea of fun?

SW: Just hanging out with family& friends. Going to movies, concerts, festivities, and meeting fans at book signings. (Smile)

SF: What experiences do you hope to one day have?
SW: To see my work on the big or small screen.

SF: What places do you still wish to travel to?
SW: Africa

SF: Do you have an agent and if not are you looking for one?
SW: I no longer have an agent.

SF: How many not yet to be released works do you  have keeping warm on the back burner?
SW: Two (2)  My novel, In The Rhythm will be released in February 2006, and Repercussions (The Victor Sexton Series) will be released next Fall.

SF:  Who did your cover for you?

SW:  Pittershawn Palmer did the new cover for, In The Name Of Love. Jonathan Gullery did the covers for Love To Behold & Seven Days

SF:  Off all of your released works which is your  favorite?
SW: I don't have a favorite novel. My favorite short story is, What Are Girlfriends For?

SF:  When, where and what type of environment are you most creative in?

SW: It doesn't matter to me, I'm able to write in any enviroment, anytime or anywhere. I always have pen &
paper ready.

SF: What other talents should everyone know you have?

SW:  I have a knack for fixing things and I like to tinker with things .

SF: Outside of your present career, are there any
other avenues you would still like to persue?

SW: No. I'm doing what I like to do.

SF:  Where would you like to see your life five years from now?
SW: My goal is continue to see Lady Leo Publishing flourish, publish authors, and good books.

SF: Anyone out there you like to acknowledge?
SW: First and foremost, I'd like to thank God above. I also would like to thank my sister, Betty for all of her love and support. Rev. Cochise for pointing me in the right direction. Marcia Mahan of Jive Magazine for buying my first short story, and sending me on my way.

SF: If you could give advice to upcoming writers what would it be?
SW: Don't talk about wanting to be about a writer, be a writer. Write every day. Don't ever give up, all the
rejections, trials, and tribulations will pay off in the end. Most important---learn the business side of w riting. It will save a lot of headaches in the end.

Thank you Silver Fox
