Well I live in the hometown, and suburb of the guys {Merewether, Newcastle, N.S.W.}, but sadly I don't PERSONALLY know them. Anyway, I was at the local shopping mall, and I was in a record shop, I looked up at the rock section, and lo and behold, there was Daniel. At first, all I wanted to do was run up and get his autograph, but then I thought about his privacy. I figured that there was a way I could get an autograph, WITHOUT being annoying to the poor guy. I casually walked up to the section he was in {by the time I got there, I decided not to say anything to him} and picked up KoRn - Life Is Peachy. I was flicking through the CD's {as you do} when all of a sudden, a CD is practically shoved in my face. I stepped back, in shock, and I realised it was Daniel holding the CD. He said "Sorry, I was just trying to show you a really good CD, coz I could see you were having a bit of trouble."
I was in complete shock, because, as we all know, it's VERY rare that Daniel will talk to a complete stranger, unless they start the conversation, and I said, {Knowing the answer}" Umm, excuse me, but are you who I think you are?"
He said "Depends."
"Are you Daniel Paul Johns?"
"How'd you know my middle name?"
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to let that slip out!"
He just replied, "That's fine. And yes I am."
I said "Cool, and thanx for the recommendation!"
He said "No worries. See Ya." & left the store. I was in complete awe as he left. I proceeded to buy the CD and went straight home to tell everyone about my experience. P.S. The CD was Minor Threat III.

Well, I first got into them earlier this year (2001), right after New Year's. I was shopping with my mum and I had money and whenever I have money I have to buy something because I'm stupid like that, and I didn't have anything I planned on buying. So I was scanning the CD section in Wal-Mart when I for some reason remembered silverchair. I had *just* found out they did the song "Tomorrow", which I had loved to no end even though I had no damn clue who they were. So I went to the S section and I was flipping for the CD that would have "Tomorrow" on it, but instead they only had Neon Ballroom and The Best Of CD, so I checked Best Of and it had Tomorrow on it, so I bought it (14 bucks, what the hell?) I went home and listened to it, and I absolutely loved them since then...bought all their CD's, everything. I love them to death now, go me.
Well, I had a weird dream one night. I was in a band and we were in a festival like Lollapalooza or something like that...and I was walking around, and I ran into Courtney Love. Supposedly we were really good friends (kick ass, I love Courtney and Hole), and we started talking and being stupid and obnoxious. Suddenly Daniel walks by, and I get all flustered for some reason. I mention to her that he had just walked by, and she's like "Aww, do you like him or something?" and I mutter Yeah, and start blushing. She gets this evil look in her eye and yanks me in the direction he's going. We follow him backstage, where he's standing watching the band that's on playing (for some reason I knew that it was Jane's Addiction - wtf they broke up...?) and he was just standing there listening to him. There was this long curtain so me and Courtney couldn't be seen. Soon enough he started walking away in our direction, and suddenly Courtney shoves me right into him. We say our apologies and of course it's a dream so the stupid cheesy music starts playing and we get that "I wuv you" glaze in our eyes, and we get up and walk away still looking at each other and we end up like automatically becoming boyfriend and girlfriend and it really reminded me of Courtney and Kurt...I think I've been listening to Nirvana, silverchair, and Hole way too damn much...and watching too many romance movies....it was semi-cool but really funny. I woke up, went over it in my mind and started laughing. I had another silverchair dream though...yes I'm sorry I'm boring oh well...anyway this one was more stupid and funny and pointless...I was in a band (A-gain) and for some reason we had to move to Newcastle (dun dun dun) to record our first album. We were hanging out at the producer's house doing stupid crap. I remember that they put a mattress on the front lawn and I jumped out the window to it and I remember hearing The Ramones' "I wanna be sedated" in the background. Well I got off the mattress, went "WOO HOO!" and I looked across the street and there was Daniel getting his mail. I waved, and he gave me a really messed up look and just gave me a small wave and hurried back inside. I kept looking for him but he never came back out again. I must have scared him or something, lol.

I can't remember the date exactly but I know it was when I was 8 years old and I was a teenie bopper with Hanson and such but I remember flipping through the channels and I saw Daniel's sweaty face and then came "Body and soul I'm a freak, I'm a freak" and I just thought "WOW! This is a really cool video!" so when it was over I had the song stuck in my head for days then when MTV stopped showing it I forgot about silverchair until I saw the beginning of Ana's Song (open Fire) on MTV2 and I said "HEY I REMEMBER THEM!!" and Daniel, Ben, and Chris all went through image changes and then I had forgotten them again till I turned 13 and my friend Cherie mentioned silverchair in our conversation and I said "HEY I LIKE THEM!" and she said "Really! What is your favorite CD?" and I said "I don't have any, sadly," and she said "Oh?" and then she sent me the Best Of album and then I totally freaked and bought ALL the albums and now I'm totally hooked and I thank Cherie for jarring my memory on the best band ever SILVERCHAIR!

Sprite was at the top of the steps, standing next to one of the production guys, sucking up to him in hopes of meeting the band later. Suddenly she heard a soliary scream...like nothing she'd ever heard before, and thought, oh great, they're here and so are all the groupies. The extras were told to turn around and stop looking at the band - so one girl said, "Daniel Johns is standing right there and you expect me to turn around?" Sprite's sister ended up going around the back, watching the monitors. After a while Sprite went down to where the guys were being filmed...by that time Daniel had finished his walk in the crowd so it was just Chris and Ben. Her sister Sam was in the back talking to Daniel (another girl was there too). The band had to leave, and the other girl had been yelling stuff like "Daniel I love you," and asked him to come over there and sign something for her. Daniel said, "No, I can't," indicating the security guards surrounding him, so she asked, "Well, can I come under the barrier and shake your hand?" He replied, "Yeah, sure," and gestured for her to come over. The other girl got under the string, kissed Daniel on the cheek, then got back (to avoid being pushed back by a guard I suppose). Sprite's sis wanted to go under and get an autograph, but Daniel just pointed to the guards and said, "Sorry." That's about it...

Story 1: The Anthem Video Shoot
OK, it all started in January sometime when my mum told me early one morning *actually it wasn't really that early probably about 1pm - I too am fond of my sleep and tend to get as much of it as possible* Anyway, mum came into my room rudely interrupting me from my slumber to inform me that extras were needed for sc's new film clip for the song 'Anthem.....' and that I should go and do it! Me being half asleep just nodded and said yea whatever rolled over and thought nothing of it. Until a few days later I heard the same thing on the radio, so I decided to ring up and see if I could do it. The woman on the other end took my name and gave me details of where to go what time etc, so that was it...I was going to be in the clip!! *Yay for me!!!* So I then told a few of my friends to do the same and come down with me...which they were more then happy to do! So on the morning of the clip we all went down to Sydney buzzing with excitement, finally got to the place of the filming and joined in the activities, it was actually a really fun day except for all the 'trendy-rejects' who ran around declaring that silverchair sucked dick (needless to say they weren't the most popular group of people that day). Now when I rang up to find out about the day, the woman I was talking to told me that the band weren't going to be there as they had to play a gig in another state that night, but that didn't bother me one bit as this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I really wanted to do it. But when we got there some big guy with a megaphone was walking around telling everyone that when the band got there "Don't go running up to them asking for autographs as they didn't have time for that!!" blah blah nag nag...I couldn't believe it!! I hadn't expected them to be there at all, but when I found out they were I was even happier! When they finally got there, my friend Kate was the first to see them, and Kate being Kate screamed as loud as I've ever heard anyone scream before! (she's not a teeny or anything, but sometimes she just can't help herself) Needless to say she got everybody's attention and I turned around and there they were standing about 5 metres away:) Initially I only saw Daniel (I didn't realise Ben and Chris were there until several minutes later) probably because of his glittery black top he really stood out, but more so because I was completely shocked by his appearance - I couldn't take my eyes off him. As I'm sure you know sc took that big long break after Freak Show and like many I hadn't seen the boys for what seemed like forever and my last memory of Daniel was with brilliant dreads and a healthy glow. But when I saw him I couldn't believe it was really him, I was so stunned!! I kept thinking ohmygod what's happened to him he looks like death, he'd lost so much weight and his face was all gaunt and pale (which was more then likely accredited to make-up but nonetheless he looked so ill) I swear I could have cried it was so scary!! Then as it was time for him to start filming it was obvious he was really uncomfortable with the crowd as he was all jittery and shaky. I couldn't help feeling for him. I just wanted to give him a big hug and a hot water bottle, and tuck him away in bed! *My exuberant maternal nature shining through I think* Anyway the guys were only there for a short while then whisked away as quickly as they came, but it was fantastic!! They were constantly surrounded by security all day, so no-one was even able to talk to them. So then the rest of the day went on and we got to run up some stairs run DOWN some stairs, jump up and down with punching fists, wave banners, spray signs and be human targets for a huge water truck and its exaggerated water pistol!! mmm sounds like fun doesn't it?! *much sarcasm intended* That got a tad bit repetitive for my liking (except for the water part - that was hell fun!!!) so me and a few friends sat down and discussed nose picking *DON'T ASK!!! -But it was heaps funny for sure* After that we were given our "exclusive" sc cd (it was London's Burning and Spawn pre-vitro version) thanked kindly and sent on our way. Now, if you look really closely * I mean REALLY closely * you can see me way up in the background behind Chris as he walks thru the crowd, but I'm terribly insignificant so it doesn't really matter, and as Ben walks through on the left of screen you can see this re
