DragonBall AF Episode 21: Snow of my dreams- let the light shine through "Doctor is she going to be alright?" They two figures stood above the small sleeping girl. " I'm not sure. Run these tests please." He said and looked back down at her. " Get me her medicine. Code Blue!" People all over the hospital began running around and grabbing things. Vegeta watched on with fear. His black eyes watered as he waited for the day to come when Asuku would be better. " Asuku please make it. Don't leave me." Then a smile crossed his face. " You'll make it." " You'll make it..." Vegeta mumbled as he sat at the back of Asuku's room. The doctor hung over the bed and had been examining her for the last three hours. His grandmother was right there holding her hand and whispering thoughts of encouragement. He leaned back and thought what his life would have been like if he had never found Asuku. It would have been so different." He said as his mind drifted off to when he found Asuku all those years ago. " I wish I had someone to play with." Vegeta sighed as he climbed up the mountain in his backyard. He could see the children in the rest of the town playing. They had excluded him because he was different. His grandparents were known for fighting. Many people blamed their troubles on his grandfather Trunks. He started the cry a little. He needed friends he was only three and much more independent then anyone else. " Wahhh!" He heard a sweet voice crying. " Huh who's there?" He turned his head around and got up slowly. He made his way over to a large hole. Inside a type of space ship. As he neared the crying got louder and louder. Until the whole thing glowed and blew up. All that remained was a small baby. Her black hair was held tightly in her hands. Her blue eyes sparkled with tears. Her small body was wrapped in a blue cloth and Vegeta slid down the mountain and slowly walked up to her. She stopped crying and looked at him. " Uh don't cry now..." He whispered and tried to get closer. But she still looked at him and then smiled. " V...Vegeta." She smiled again. " How do you know my name?" He asked her. She got up and walked her way over to Vegeta, falling over many a times. " Vegeta." She hugged him as if she had known him forever. " I get it your lonely too." He softly said. " Well I'll never leave you alone...never." --------------------*****-------------------- " I hope Asuku gets better." Shino mumbled as she walked down the snow filled streets. Street lamps lit up the streets in the night sky. " I can remember it so well. If I hadn't met her I don't know what I would have done." " Asuku!" Vegeta said as he ran after her. " Catch me if you can!" She laughed. She kept on running...running away from everything. " Now Shino-Chan. I'm sure you'll make a lot of new friends." Her black short hair blew in the summer breeze. She was seven and on her way to school in Satan City. Her mother kissed her goodbye and as she walked out of the walk someone zoomed by her, blowing the cheery blossoms off the trees in the yard. " Huh?" Shino looked at figure now in front of her. " Gomen." She smiled. Her black hair curled around her face and made even Shino happy. Shino smiled and introduced herself. " Hi my name is Shino Ko Chan. Call me Shino." She held out her hand for the other girl to take. " Moshi Moshi!" She smiled and took her hand. " My name is Asuku Saiyanjin Briefs-Vegeta. Call me Asuku." She laughed. " Asuku! I'm so going to kill you!" He growled. Asuku put her hands on her hips and laughed. " Okay! Only if you can catch me though!" She laughed again and grabbed Shino's hand. " Who's that?" Vegeta asked stopping. " She's going to be my hostage!" She looked over at Shino. " Not really. Just for our game, If your lucky he won't kill you." She smiled and Shino felt a bit of relief. " I DON'T CARE!" Vegeta said running after them. " That's my Shino. Making friends and becoming a hostage." Her mother sighed. " She's growing up so fast." She closed the door and left Shino being dragged down the street by Asuku and chased by Vegeta. --------------------*****-------------------- " Right here." Aseriana stopped. " Right here is where I met her back in the past. " Who's that?" Aseriana asked Trunks. " That would be Asuku." He sighed and looked at the hyper active kid who Goku was playing with. " Hello I'm Aseriana." She smiled at her. " I suppose you could say I'm your grandmother from the future...er past...um I don't really know now." Asuku giggled. " That's okay Rena." Asuku got up and smiled. " Tunks doesn't know how I'm here either. But I think that's for different reasons." She giggled again and left Trunks blushing like mad. " Huh?" She stared at both of them. Asuku turned and started to walk away. " Hold the ones you find dear close." She walked on and giggled. " Or you'll soon regret it." She said as she ran off into the horizon --------------------*****-------------------- " Suku-Chany..." Misako sighed as she stood outside the gates to the Capsule Corp mansions. " Why did they let this happen to you." She felt tears burning in her eyes. She wiped them away quickly and rung the bell. In her hands she held cards and flowers given to her by mostly everyone in the school. She smiled as she clenched the gates. She could remember the first time she had seen Asuku. So many fond memories they just couldn't be taken away could they? " Looks like a new addition to the Briefs family." Misako's mother sighed as they passed the gates. " Looks like we'll be forever in their control." Another woman sighed. Misako looked up at the gates and let go of her mother's hand. As she approached it she saw a young black haired girl playing with a young boy. She was laughing then saw her. " Moshi Moshi!" The girl cried out. She ran up to the gates and smiled. Her blue eyes sent a weird chill into Misako. " Hello my name is Misako." She played with her blond hair and then waited for the girl to answer. " I'm Asuku." She smiled again. She waved good-bye as Misako's mother pulled her away. " Kaasan!" Misako struggled. " Bye Misako-Chan." She pointed at the gate. " Come any time my friend." No one had ever called her their friend before it made Misako feel special. She stopped struggling and smiled again. " Sayonara!" --------------------*****-------------------- " It's all my fault." Goku said, kicking a near by pop can. "I could have stopped it. I could have!" The dark sky further more anger him. All he could think about was Asuku. He slammed back into a bus seat he grabbed his head and started crying. Her black hair and blue eyes kept flowing in his mind. Her laughter and her smile. " It's my fault. I should have been there for her. She always has for me..." His mind faded back to when Vegeta and some other guys were picking on him. " Stay away from her." Vegeta growled as he threw another jab at him with his fencing sword . Goku looked annoyed as he kept on fighting back. Vegeta's eyes seemed fixated on him. The girls were watching from the balcony above the gym. " This is boring." Shino complained. She rested her head on the ledge and rolled her eyes. The other girls laughed but Asuku seemed to be so intent on this match. " She's looking at us." Goku blushed. Asuku's blue eyes blinked as both their helmets turned and looked at her. " Go Vegeta!" She paused then shouted again. " Go Gokuu!" " That's not fair." The guys protested. " I don't care about Vegeta but Goku is getting all the glory." They pushed their way onto the gym floor and threw down Goku. " What are they doing?" Asuku stood up quickly and looked in horror as the guys beat upon Goku and he wasn't fighting back. " Asuku wait!" Shino tried to stop her as she jumped over the side. Misako giggled. " At least she's in her gym shorts, if she was in her skirt I'm sure they'd stop quickly." Shino sighed at Misako who was beat red now. " Gokuu are you okay?" Asuku asked as she neared the crowd. " No. Not really." He managed to say. The guys had stopped when they saw Asuku. " Really! You should all be ashamed!" She looked over at Vegeta. " You're just as bad! You could have stopped this!" She picked up Goku, blushing like always. She put his arm over her shoulder and helped him out to the nurse's office. " Thanks." He said as she set him on the bed. " It was my pleasure. Don't worry I'm sure they won't bother you like that again." She looked around to make sure no one was there. " Thanks for not fighting back. You might have really hurt them." She whispered in his ear. She giggled and walked out of the room. Goku fell backwards as he fainted by blushing. --------------------*****-------------------- " Looks like we all ended up in the same place." Aseriana said as she approached the gates to the Capsule Mansion. One hand was on her hip and she tried to pull a smile. Her pink lipstick gave a glimmer to her face as she looked at Misako who stood at the gates and at Shino who had ran the whole way here. " Yeah." Goku added as he approached. Misako moved her hand towards the bell. She rang it as they all waited with anticipation. " Hello?" A voice answered. " We're here to see Asuku-Chan." Shino squeaked up. She had never liked the intercom system. " Come right in." The gates slowly opened and the snow fell off it as they had not been opened in many days. They made their way up the long walkway. As they neared the mansion Misako clutched the flowers and cards and feared the worst of Asuku's condition. " Misako-Chan what's wrong?" Goku asked. She blushed. " Nothing." She answered sadly. " We're here." Aseriana stated to the two. Their butler opened the door and let them in. Marron greeted them as they entered. " I'm so glad your all here. Vegeta is up stairs with Asuku and the doctor. Were not sure about poor Asuku's condition." Marron sighed and led them up the stairs. " Suku-Chany?" Misako gulped as they entered the darkened room. Asuku lay on her bed not moving much and the doctor was still examining her. " What are you doing here?" Vegeta said with great anger in his voice. " She's our friend Vegeta!" Misako cried out. " We just came to see her!" She felt as if she was going to cry. Vegeta sighed and tried not to look at them. He didn't mind them being there; he really didn't! It was just that he was so worried. " Calm down Vegeta. She'll be back to normal soon enough." Aseriana said placing her hand on his shoulder. Misako had put the flowers in a vase that Marron had set beside Asuku's bed. " Vegeta, what did Akuryou do to Asuku anyway?" Shino asked once Marron had gone over to Asuku. " He...he gave her what little life he had left. But it's not enough!" He said almost in yell. " Calm down!" Goku added. Vegeta sighed and looked back at his sister who lay almost lifeless on the bed. The doctor was still doing tests on her and Marron was standing behind him. Misako had taken Asuku's hands in her own and was almost on the verge of crying. " This isn't right...those with pure hearts aren't suppose to feel pain." He mumbled. " But Vegeta my heart isn't all pure." He heard a voice whisper. " Did any of you say that?" He asked them, thinking it was just a cruel joke. He angrily shook his fists at them and began yelling unbelievable things. Then he heard laughter. A sweet laughter that filled the room it got louder and louder and he turned to find Asuku laughing, she was still lying down but she was smiling and laughing quite hard. He blushed and ran over to her. " Suku-Chany your okay!" Misako cried out and hugged her as she assumed sitting position. Vegeta ran over and nearly knocked Misako over and he hugged Asuku too. The doctor looked dumbfounded and Marron let out small laughter. Shino and Aseriana smiled big and ran over to the bed too. " She's okay...Asuku you have so many people watching over you." Goku smiled. Then his smile turned to a frown and he whispered to himself. " Why do you need me." He left quickly without anyone noticing except Vegeta. He let go of Asuku and the girls crowed around her. He looked at where Goku was and smiled. " You'll figure it out soon enough." He whispered and stared out the window.
