Operation A.S.U.K.U Chapter 4: Descend to Earth “ I left the only home I knew. Before the training I would have worried or hesitated. But I couldn’t and I had no thoughts about leaving. I could only think about my mission and the cruel life I had endured. I didn’t want others to have to go through it. But even I didn’t understand the level of pain I endured.” “ Ahhhhh!” Asuku’s voice screamed out as Takai Tenshi fell onto the earth’s ground. It landed on its side as the door flung open and Asuku fell out rolling onto the sand. She lifted off her dark brown helmet and let her night black hair flow down her back. Her dark blue eyes squinted as she shield her eyes with her arm while looking at the bright sky. The sand blew around quietly with a little whistle. She looked around but could only see her suit and her tiny footprints being buried away. “ Asuku! Asuku come in!” A little screen inside Takai Tenshi popped up with Kaji’s voice in it. “ Mr. Warui how are you?” Asuku calm voice asked as she seated herself back in the seat. “ Fine. Now Asuku where did you land?” He asked as she fiddled with some knobs and buttons. “Coordinates J62 R55.” She answered. He smiled. “ Good you can hide your mobile suit there while you inspect the earth for military weapons and such.” He stopped and his face turned serious. “ Be prepared they are bond to now about operation A.S.U.K.U by now. Bring along weapons and don’t allow failure. She nodded as the screen went blank. “ Understood.” She whispered into the shifting sand. “ Okay now all I do is press this button and…” Asuku held a little button which made her mobile suit invisible for the time being while she inspected the earth. She was carrying to laser guns and a couple smoke bombs. She changed out of her space suit and into her normal clothes. “ I can get to a city by motorbike.” She pulled out a capsule and it reviled a black motorbike. “ Better get going.” She said calmly as she bike raced across the eternal desert. Three hours later she arrived in a large city. “ Looks like Densetsu.” She said referring to the capital of Akuryou. The buildings were large and there were many people. “ But the people look…happier?” She quietly said. Many people asked her if she was lost or needed help and were very nice to her. “ Are you okay child?” A voice ran through her head as she sighed. “ Konnichiwa.” She heard a gentle voice behind her. “ Huh?” Her blue eyes blinked as she stared at a young girl who was carrying a bunch of bags. “ Say what are you doing out here alone?” She set down the bags and placed her hands on her knees. She looked about twenty to Asuku. “ Did you lose your parents?” She asked another question. ‘What’s with this kind her eyes are empty and doesn’t even seam to be noticing me…’ “ I have no parents.” Asuku coldly stated as if she had heard the woman’s thoughts. The woman blushed and her eyes went sad. “ Oh I’m so sorry.” She said. “ Don’t be it has nothing to do with you.” Asuku said as her head turned around thinking that she saw something. “ Hmph! I was just be apologetic.” She said as she picked up her bags. “ Only the weak…” Asuku whispered as she saw the woman struggle with the bags. “ Huh?” She asked as Asuku took some bags from her. “ Let me help you.” She said as she walked along side the woman. “ I’m sorry to I was rude it’s just I’m not used to people being nice to me.” She sadly said. ‘I can’t keep this up much longer. At least if she lets me stay with her I can destroy the military easier.’ She tried to smile, as she hadn’t since before her training. The woman couldn’t see the fake smile and smiled back. After a while of walking and as Asuku enjoyed the earth’s scenery they arrived at the woman’s house. “ Why don’t you stay at my house for a while.” The woman offered. Asuku smiled. “ Thank-you.” She said her soft accent making the woman feel cold. “ No problem…I think.” She whispered the last part. “ You can sleep in her.” The woman offered as Asuku dropped her bag on the floor. “ Oh by the way my name is 11…” She started. “ Um my name is Asuku.” She said using her code name. “ Asuku…” She whispered. “ Oh my name is Niako.” She smiled and closed the door as she left. “ I’ll call you when it’s dinner.” She said. “ Okay.” Asuku said in response. “ Hello?” A man’s scruffy voice was heard over the telephone in Niako’s basement. Asuku couldn’t hear and that’s the way she wanted it. “General? This is Lieutenant Niako reporting.” He voice was low and he could hardly hear her. “ What is it?” He asked a little annoyed. “ I just found this kid…” “ I don’t want to hear about some dammed kid!” He yelled at her. Her face became angry as she waited till he calmed down. “ No you see this kid was on her own looking around like she had never been here before and I detected she was armed.” This caught the general’s interest. “ Armed?” He asked. She gave a small reply. “ Shhh!” She whispered. “ She’s upstairs. I told her she could stay here for a while because I wasn’t sure about her. She seams kind but I think it’s an act.” “ Why do you think that…” She nodded. “ When she told me her name that’s when I got it.” Niako proudly said. “ She was about to list of a number name…but then said her name was Asuku.” “ Operation A.S.U.K.U so they are going through with it. I’ll launch the military to start looking for her mobile suit while you keep an eye on her. At night try to find out some in formation.” The screen went blank and fuzzy. “ Yes sir.” She sighed and walked back upstairs. “ So you made a friend already good work 119211121.” Kaji’s voice sternly laughed. “ I will no longer respond to that name it is Asuku now.” Asuku angrily said. Kaji stopped laughing. “ Hai, well looking around see if you can find anything. We’ll keep you posted just don’t leave anything important around.” Asuku nodded and hung up her phone. Later that night Asuku crept out of her room and began to snoop around the house while Niako did too. “ Looks like she’s asleep.” Niako thought as she crept into the room. Her green eyes glimmered and her blond hair hung off her shoulders. “ Now let’s see who you are.” She opened the drawer and pulled out a card. Name: 119211121 Codename: Asuku Mission: complete operation A.S.U.K.U on behalf of Akuryou Society. “ She’s their leader of the mission?” Niako gulped. She began to read through the records Asuku had in her bag. “ She survived the Zero Training room?” She gulped again quietly. “ What are you doing here?” She saw a small shadow in the doorway. “ I should be asking you the same thing.” Niako stood up with a scowl on her face but her eyes spread apart and her skin went cold when Asuku stepped out of the shadows. The gun was pointed at Niako’s head. “ Prepared to die Lieutenant Niako.” Asuku ‘s calm voice said. In her other hand was a folder of all government activities towards Akuryou’s operation A.S.U.K.U. “ Wait 119211121!” She yelled but at the mention of those numbers the trigger was pulled and Niako fell to the ground. Blood all over the carpet and Asuku placed the gun back into her belt. “ I heard your conversation. I’m not a fool.” She whispered to her before she died. “ Why?” Niako’s voice was losing volume as she talked. Asuku’s eyes widened. “ Why are you doing this your going to hurt so many people!” Asuku’s eyes narrowed and she turned angry. “ When I started training I lost all sense of emotions. So I can’t feel the sorrow of the people here.” Asuku sighed with no feeling. Niako’s eyes closed and she lay dead. “ No matter how horrible I feel inside…” Asuku whispered.
