Operation A.S.U.K.U Chapter 5: My name is Asuku “ So I had to look upon the death of Niako as part of my duty. The old me wouldn’t have done it because I would have felt her pain and sorrow but this new me…I just didn’t want to go on. As I walked through the streets on earth I noticed the families and the love they shared for each other. A life I had never known on Akuryou I apologize to everyone that I killed in order to make way for a massacre. But I will keep on living for the sake of the people with good hearts.” “ I’m so hungry.” Asuku mumbled as he tummy rumbled. She looked around nervously for something to eat. Her face was pale and she had become weak. “ I need to eat what does Kaji think I am?” She said angrily. Her eyes widened and she grabbed her forehead and fell to her knees. “ I’m turning back into who I was…that weakling…” Her voice trailed off as she collapsed in the rain. ----------------------------- “ Now do you want something to eat?” She heard a giggle and a blue haired face was the first thing she saw when she sleepily opened her eyes. “ Wha…” She groaned and tried to sit up. “ I said do you want something to eat?” The little girl asked kind of ticked off. Asuku smiled emptily and nodded. “ You have pretty eyes but their empty.” The little girl said as she ran out the door and left a shocked Asuku sitting up in a bed. “ Sorry if my granddaughter is a bit hyper active but I guess all children are.” An old man appeared at the door. “ Oh did you bring me here?” She asked quietly. He nodded and she didn’t smile. “ You were lying there in the streets we couldn’t leave you there.” He sat as he sat down beside her. “ Hn.” Asuku’s voice was quite unhappy. “ I can’t stay here.” She said as she stepped out of the bed. Once her foot touched the floor she collapsed in pain. “ Ow…” She rubbed it and noticed it was quite cold. “ Your foot has a bit of frost bit so you should rest until it’s better. My granddaughter, Mika, will get you a hot water bottle too.” He smiled but Asuku seamed distracted by something. ‘ I can’t rest. If I stay here they’ll end up dying…’ Her eyes softened and filled with grief. She sighed and turned back to him as he lifted her small body back onto the bed. “ Just rest.” He said heavily. She narrowed her eyes and huffed. She had no choice. “ Grandpa!” Mika’s sweet voice laughed as she carried in a tray of food and a hot water bottle. “ Thank-you.” Asuku quietly said to her. She began to eat slowly until she dropped her fork. “ Is something the matter Miss. Asuku?” Mika asked in worry. “ My bag!” She said almost in a yell. “ Don’t worry. It’s right here.” The old man came running through with the blue bag. “ Phew.” Asuku sighed then she raised an eyebrow as she snatched it from him. “ You didn’t open it did you?” She asked nervously. He shook his head. “ No. I respect all people’s privacy.” She smiled a fake smile. “ I thank-you.” She said instantly. Mika smiled as she giggled. Asuku finished her meal and the old man tended to her foot. “ Does it hurt Miss. Asuku?” The old man asked when he saw the girl looking funny at him. “ Yes but you remind me of someone who used to take care of me when I got hurt.” She sadly said. He couldn’t sense the sadness in her voice because she couldn’t express emotions. “ Well that’s quite nice Miss. Asuku.” He said as he began to relax. “ Grandpa! Grandpa!” Mika’s scared voice screamed as the two bolted from the room to find soldiers at the door. Asuku hid as the old man went to the door. “ Earth’s military officers.” Asuku shut her eyes. “ And I have to get to Takai Tenshi before they can find me.” She turned to go out the back but Mika stood in front of her. “ Where do you think your going?” The four-year-old squeaked. Her dark black eyes narrowing in anger and her blue hair blowing freely in the wind. “ You know about the soldiers!” She shouted. Asuku dove to cover her tiny mouth as Mika squirmed. “ Is someone there?” One of the soldiers asked. The old man shook his head as he peered around the corner and continued his conversation. “ Hmpf! HMPF!” Mika mumbled as Asuku motioned for her to shut-up. She stopped squirming and sighed as Asuku let her mouth go. The door shut and Asuku came face to face with an angry old man. “ What do you know about this Miss. Asuku?” His voice was stern and Asuku stepped back as Mika ran to him. “ I…” She gulped knowing what she would have to do if they stood in her way. “ I will kill all who stand in my way.” She remembered telling Kaji those exact words. “ You’re a soldier aren’t you?” He asked a little nicer. “ They were looking for someone by the name of 119211121.” She grew angry at the name. “ Don’t ever call me that please.” She said unhappily. She buttoned up her jacket and placed her bag on her shoulders. “ I am a soldier from Akuryou, actually I am the leader of operation A.S.U.K.U. I was placed in charge by our planet’s leader.” She said as she pulled out a gun. “ Now that you know I can’t not let you live.” She said as she pointed it at him. “ Stop it!” Mika cried tears fell out of her eyes. “ Grandpa’s the only family I have left. He’s not going to tell so you don’t have to kill him!” She said as tears streamed down her face. “ It’s your decision.” He said flatly. Asuku lowered the gun. “ Maybe I was wrong…” She said and placed the gun back in her belt. “ Master Chichibu!” A civilian ran up to him. “ What is it?” He asked with worry. “ The towns are being attack by military suits looking for a child by the name of 119211121!” He quavered. “ Oh no, this is my entire fault…” Asuku whispered. She pushed the man out of the way as she ran into the city. “ It’s take me to long to get Takai Tenshi…wait!” She pulled out a small black control panel. “ I’m so glad we made this.” She almost laughed- almost. Within seconds her mobile suit had arrived as she got into it. “ Pilot Asuku speaking.” She said as the suit turned on. “ Grandpa will she be okay?” Mika asked sadly. “ Of course.” The assured her as he held her in his arms. She battled alone for hours destroying the mobile suits slowly and deadly. She was able to wipe out all military leaders and as she faced the last of the mobile suits. “ Okay Asuku destroy all military power.” Kaji’s voice instructed. “ For the name of peace!” She yelled as she destroyed them. “ In the name of humanity!” She held again destroying some more. “ In the name of the zero souls!” She yelled quite loudly and destroyed the remaining suits. “ Child!” Master Warui’s voice cried into a screen. He was alone as he tried to reach her. “ Master Warui?” She asked. “ This isn’t what operation A.S.U.K.U was supposed to be. We were supposed to live in peace with them. The earth people that is. Kaji changed it so he could make a massacre!” Asuku’s eyes widened as the screen went blank. She opened the door to find the people around the machine. “ Oh Miss. Asuku are you okay?” Many of the people surround her. Mika and he grandfather came up to congratulate her but her face was pale and she looked angry. “ I’m not done yet.” She sneered. “ I now realize that operation A.S.U.K.U was just a lead of massacre but I’m not done.” She started her suit once again. “ We shall fight for one last time.” She said to the machine. “ Miss. Asuku!” Mika called out but it was too late. “ Thank-you.” She whispered as Asuku flew off. “ Ah Asuku you have returned did everything go well?” Kaji asked as he showed the pilots pale dead face to the people on Akuryou. “ Operation Akuryou’s Society of Universal Kuroi Undercover. Better known as operation A.S.U.K.U. Where the inhabitants of Akuryou would take over the earth by sending a certain solider to earth to control the people. Our planet had high technology and was just like the earth. Years ago the earth’s people began to get ahead of us and that angered many people here. That’s where I came in. I had no family as far as I could remember, but I had to have had a family or how could I have been born? But that didn’t matter because when I was three I was found by the leader of Operation A.S.U.K.U. rather than leave me to die he took me in as a solider. I had no name and was referred to as Soldier 119211121. Despite the fact that I was only four I was one of the best soldiers because I no emotions and no distractions. At the age of five I had made it up to the highest rank. And it was our final week before our leader Mr. Warui would choose the leader for operation A.S.U.K.U. We were all in extensive training because it would be a great honor to be chosen. But none of us knew the dangerous that faced us in the near future. Perhaps if I had never been found I would have died. That’s why I was so keen on helping them complete the mission no matter what. That’s what I think Mr. Warui found interesting about me. Unlike the other soldiers who talked out of turn or back talked I was consistently the perfect soldier but I envied them…they could feel they had families but what did I have? I was empty with no heart living in a world where I didn’t belong. It was then that I had no emotions. What little emotions I had before were gone. I was just a puppet willingly in Mr. Warui’s hand. My heart had been destroyed and I was alone once again even though people surrounded me. I was always cold…so cold. I longed to feel happiness again and to smile but I couldn’t…it was the day I die not physically but my heart had died. I left the only home I knew. Before the training I would have worried or hesitated. But I couldn’t and I had no thoughts about leaving. I could only think about my mission and the cruel life I had endured. I didn’t want others to have to go through it. But even I didn’t understand the level of pain I endured. While I was on earth a military official found me and said she would care for me, her name was Niako. But she found out about it and I had to kill her. So I had to look upon the death of Niako as part of my duty. But I will keep on living for the sake of the people with good hearts.” Asuku coldly said to the people there. Their eyes widened as Asuku geared up for her last sentence. “ Now I must destroy Akuryou.” She pointed her laser beam at the planet. “ I won’t die until I have completed this mission. No matter how long it takes I will succeed. I will no longer be needing your transmissions.” “ Asuku what are you doing?” “ Getting rid of everything that stands in my way!” “ Asuku! Sto…” His voice was cut off and the planet exploded. ------------------------------------ “ What why am I still alive?” Faye asked as she rubbed her head. “ Asuku saved us.” Tori whispered. “ I saved all with pure hearts.” They heard Asuku’s gentle voice say as she opened the shield she held them in. “ This is the earth?” Umi asked. “ It’s very beautiful.” Her eyes sparkled. “ You’ll live here from now on.” Asuku happily said. “ What about you?” Faye asked. “ I don’t need a place to live any more…” She lost her balance and fell. Faye ran and caught her. “ Asuku don’t talk crazy you survived zero and you’ll survive this.” She said as she saw Asuku smile the once gentle smile she once gave before. “ Miss. Asuku?” A little girl ran up to them. “ Grandpa I found her!” She laughed and ran up to them. “ Who are you?” She asked. “ Friends of hers.” They whispered and she laughed. “ Okay then.” “ What happened to that machine she was piloting?” The old man asked. “ It blew up in space. She only had the shield left to save us.” One girl said. They looked down at the small girl and Faye smiled. “ Oh Asuku…” ------------------------------------ “ So years past and peace had returned to Earth. Nobody worries about who is stronger or better. They all live in peace. “ So I guess this was your fate Asuku.” Faye whispered, looking upon a field of flowers. Too bad I wasn’t there to see it… “ Rest in peace…Asuku-Chan.” The End
