Congradulations to Jason who has had his cellphone
since before .MP3's existed.
Nobody ever gives me link ideas.
Time marches on. for those of us that have not taken the post-paid
training, it will be starting on Monday. Por Fin. Just a
side note; started on a personal project sominus today. We'll see what
the future brings.
Those of you that actuallty read this, I apologise for the lack of
updates in the past weeks. I'm strange like that.
Congradulations to Burt Rutan and Scaled Composites,
they've recently completed their 2nd manned non-governmental space
flight to win the 10 million dollar Ansari X-Prise.
I had personally been rooting for my favorite team, John Carmack (of Doom, and Quake fame)'s Armadillo Aerospace.
Check out their web site if you would like to see how close you can get
to space with a few slightly clued people and about $30,000.
There are some amusing technical tidbits and a few nice videos
of stuff failing
in interesting
ways.
Much peace and happiness to all. - ZMC

Things have been rather quiet here at
Lurian.net. I've added a web provisioning link, if anyone has any
link requests, please feel free to mail me with them.
Happy
Customer Service Week!

More changes to the
site. I realized that I had the domain Lurian.net
registered to me, the server has been offline for a long time and the
domain was rotting pointing to my defunct grex page. I've
changed my dynamic DNS entry to point
to my old geocities address and this page should be accessable both
ways. Lurian.net is easier to remember and type, and eventually will be
moved to my private server when I get back online.
I've also added a spiffy clock that tells time
in binary,
some links to my favorite news site /.
(Slashdot), and the serial comic Freefall.
Expect more links to appear as I move in and make this page a bit more
mine than it was before.

Storm has past, and clear skies give way to
bright sunshine, heat, glare, and a semblance of calm normalcy.
The mid-atlantic high has moved away from the coast of Africa and the
likelyhood that severe storms will continue to threaten the coast has
diminished.
Ahead lies the rest of the year, the summer
cooling to give way to autumn, and winter.
Winter for me has always meant snow, long
nights, hot chocolate, crisp mornings, cold linoleum and the sound of
snow falling below the unwavering green eyes of steetlamps. A peaceful
time. Rest, rebirth, trees reduced to bare twigs, and a world covered
in a special kind of magic.
Lately winters have meant, coquito, tembleque,
pasteles, y parandas, a brief pause from the searing heat that usually
bakes us here in PR. Winter still is mostly a season of night, even
here, and that's something that I cherish.
Unfortunatly here there is no fall to ease the
passage from summer to winter. The beautiful and varied colors
and cool winds that transition us from one extreme to the other have no
place here in this tropical climate. Seldom is it that the weather
turns cold enough to provoke leaves to turn.
I find it difficult at times to find the
beauty in the everyday. I love seasons, change, vibrance. At least when
I speak of the weather.
So I look now to the sky. one of the few
things that gives me joy and pause. The complexity of depth, color,
fire, water, air and motion inspire me. A constant change, and usually
it is the most energetic, stormy, and overcast days that captivate me.
Somehow this post has gotten a little out of hand,
and is longer than I expected it to be. Perhaps that's why "The
Weather" has been a topic of small-talk throught the ages.
If you've made it this far hope you've enjoyed
the ride. - ZMC

Well, today has been interesting to say the
least. Had the wonderful experience of being on foot because my
car wasn't ready as expected. Late to work (again),
you know the drill.
int main(void)
{
for (days; days >= 0; days--)
{
int i = rand()
do
{
event();
i--;
} whlie(i >= 0)
}
kill.entity();
return(0);
}

Unless
anyone else gives me a better idea random things will appear
periodically.

we are bald.
Please do not grope this page (grepping
is fine).

The rains continue here in Puerto Rico as the
last traces of Tropical Storm Jeanne exit. Flooding and confused
cellular consumers are prevelant in the wake of the storm. People
generally can figure out that landline phones, water, and electrical
service can be expected to suffer in the event of a major storm, but at
the same time, said individuals may have a difficult time comprehending
that cellular service may also be affected.
Remember that in trying times one must have
even more patience and compassion for those confused individuals.
Our contirbutions here can play a small part in the emotional recovery
of people that have lost their homes, personal belongings, socks, or
those that have just experienced the traumatic event of witnessing the
very last of their favorite beverage being guzzled by an inconsiderate
family member or neighbor.
