My Accutane Journal
Week Two (February 9-15th, 2003)
Well, hello everyone...if there's even anyone out there.  It's hard to believe the end of my second week on Accutane is already here.  This week was much more eventful than last week.  I am DYING of dryness now.  My eyes, nose, and lips are absolutely parched.  It burns....huge, sunburn-like flakes come off of my nose and leave hideous "burnt-looking" spots.  Oh the pain...*L*.  I had three nosebleeds this week....not pleasant, but at least they weren't when I was in my three hour chemistry lab or anything terrible like that.  I've been dealing though, tons of moisturizer (Cetaphil rocks!)  and I've found this amazing lip balm called "Labello regular"  it goes wherever I go, or I'll die!  ( Not to be melodramatic or anything...)  I've also invested in Refresh eye drops, and Rhinaris nasal moisturizer, and they help.  As for the acne situation, it is definitely not getting any better, not that I expect it to this soon, but I hope it turns around sooner than later.

My face looks like...well...SHIT!  I don't have any gigantic, ready to explode zits, but I have TONS of huge, dry, burning ones, I think this is the most I've had at one time.  I'm trying sooo hard to leave them alone so they'll go away quicker, but I have to admit...sometimes the urge to pick wins over (I know, I know...soooo bad :P)  I actually dread washing my face now because it's like the water sucks what little moisture there is right out of it.  A painful process, but I do it nonetheless.  Also, walking to class in the bitterly cold Ontario winter sucks hardcore...the freezing cold wind makes my face SCREAM, I swear!  To anyone else out there at the same stage as me...don't give up...I'm not about to...although I feel like it, it will all be worth it in the end...I hope.  That's about it for this week.  Next week is reading week, at least I get to stay home and hide away, hopefully I'll look better when I go back in a week....who knows...I don't think it can get any worse than how I look right now (knock on wood).  Tata for now!  ~Katie
