Side Effects
For quick reference I have decided to create a list of the side effects I have experienced with a few details so that others will know what they might expect to expericnce.  Good luck everyone!  ~Katie
Dry skin: Everywhere on my body from week one on.  Keep your bathrooms, purses, cars and workplaces/schools stocked with a good, non comedogenic moisturizer.  My fave: Complex 15

Arm/hand rash: Started experiencing this in the middle of my treatment, all over my arms from elbows down.  If not treated, turns into sores/scabs.  My miracle cure was Vaseline, no not the moisturizer, the actual petroleum jelly.  Since I am not prone to acne on these areas, I could use it without worry.  Slather it on and rub in well, and the rash leaves in a couple of days.

Chapped Lips: These puppies are hardcore, so ALWAYS carry lip balm or you might get into trouble like I did with my lips migrating onto my face in the form of nasty looking scabs.  Not cute.  My favorites are blistex DCT, or lip conditioner, both in little tins, Labello original (the grape one is disgusting) and good old Vaseline, but don't let that travel onto your face either.

Crusty/bloody nose: Thiws had been ongoing and is really yucky.  My nose doesn't bleed per se, it just continually accumulates some nasty stuff in there, you'll know exactly what I mean when it happens to you.  I haven't found a cure, but Rhinaris, and Vaseline help somewhat.

Dry eyes: Mine are not so bad, so I use drops once in a while.  I have been fortunate enough to be able to tolerate my contacts through the entire treatment, hope you're luck is as good as mine here.

Dry hair: Oh boy, this one makes me mad....my hair is my pride and joy...RUINED *lol* Okay, maybe not ruined...just very FRIED!  I have found that Dove shampoo and Infusium shampoo help somewhat, and I very often skip shampoo altogether and just use conditioner.  My hair always used to be greasy at the end of the day....now...I could probably go days without washing...not that I do!

Dry throat: There was a period of about two weeks where I pretty much lost my voice because of dry throat, around week 15 ans 16, I didn't know what to do, so I let it run it's course and seem to have recovered.

Fatigue: Extremely tired ALL the time.  I'm still battling with this one, so I have nothing to offer for help on it.

Cracked tooth: Sometime around week 10-12, I found out one of my molars was cracked.  I don't know if this is Accutane related, but it sure seems like it because it makes everything else on my body brittle, why not my teeth?  I have no other dental problems, and not a single cavity, so it's sorta strange.  Oh well, I got it fixed and two hundred dollars later, it all good.  Just be careful not to chew any lifesavers candies *L*...I think that's what did it for me.

Sore joints/limbs: They ache, all the time.  I can't keep them in one position for too long, or they scream at me.  It's weird, I'm 20 and I feel 80 in that respect.

Heel thingy: Will be back to explain this one...just gotta run cause we're going shopping *L* Be back soon!
