Ok, I've been looking at some of JK's online chats/interviews, and I just thought I'd post some of the more interesting things I've picked out from them, just for general information.

Professor Dumbledore is 150 years old, Professor Snape is about 35-36 years old. Wizards generally have a longerlife expectancy than muggles.

You don't need a wand to do magic, but for controlled and generally better spells you do, for eg. the inflating of Aunt Marge in book 4 was done without a wand and uncontrolled.

Harry's middle name is James.

A galleon is worth approxomately �5

JK said that if she could go to Hogwarts for 1 hour, she'd go straight to a room that Harry has only visited in book 4 that has magical properties he doesn't yet know about (room not stated, but I'm thinking the kitchens at the moment).

JK redrafted chapter 9 of book 4 (the Dark Mark) thirteen times before being satisfied! She said that she was thinking of leaving it out altogether and writing a note saying "Chapter 9 was to difficult" and going straight to chapter 10!

JK is keeping us in the dark about whether Harry will live or not; at an interview when asked whether she'd write about Harry after Hogwarts, she answered "What makes you so sure I'm going to let him live?" and has made several other comments along this strain.

The "K" in "JK" is not a part of her real name; it was her favourite grandmother, Kathleen's initial.

Ron's birthday is the first of March, and Hermione's is the 19th September.

We will find out what Prof. Trelawney's first prediction was

A few of the Hogwarts professors have had spouses, but apparently that information is restricted at the moment (we'll find out why).

There is definitely something more than friendship between Ron and Hermione, but Ron doesn't realise it! (Typical male, methinks!)

We'll find out more about James Potter's family history in future books.

The idea of House Elves was taken from folklore; they are not JK's creation.

The title of Book 5 is definitely "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"

The rumour that Harry will team up with Draco Malfoy to fight evil is unconfirmed; JK has said that it is "just a rumour"

We will discover who Percy will side with in book 5 - Fudge or his Family??

Hagrid was in Gryffindor.

We'll find out more about Mrs Figg in book 5.

Professor Flitwick is the head of Ravenclaw.

When someone asked if Sirius Black was going to be cleared, she replied that it was "much too important a bit of information to reveal"

Book 4 is probably the longest of the books; Book 5 will definitely be shorter.

Harry will see Mad-Eye Moody again - and apparently he's even cooler than the imposter, Crouch Jr.

JK hinted that Harry might use a bit of magic on Dudley in the future...

Colonel Fubster, mentioned in Book 3 is nothing more than a muggle neighbour of Aunt Marge's
