CARTOMANCY A method of telling someone's fortune by using a deck of cards. This page has to do with the way one can read with a regular deck of cards. You heard right! A deck of poker cards can tell you a lot more then just whom will win with a royal flush. I learned this style around the same time started kindergarten. Or pretty close there about. Great Grandfather taught me the way he was taught to give readings. Not that he needed cards to give a reading or any other tool of the trade. Though as he said "I would learn later the secret to that". Which is.. One does not want another staring at them, so to draw the attention or use as a focal point it is always nice to have something that does just that. Plus now with the online readings and such. It makes it very easy to give one a reading without them asking a single question. Personally prefer to do readings this way, cause anyone can give you an aswer to your worldly questions just like the next person. Though few can give you an aswer that comes true without you asking for the question to be answered. Now, let it be stated I am NOT debunking anyone whom uses a different way of reading then mine. Am well aware that EVERYONE has their own ways, beliefs and ect. In my opinion if everyone was exactly alike this world really would be a pathetic place. So the cards or any other tool can aide in that need. Then again some have told me that it actually aides them in opening their intuitive abilities. Personally view Tarot cards as pretty artwork and for the price of them they are just that indeed. Let alone they are not always accessible at times, were as a deck of playing cards can be found just about any corner store. Remember that one has to know where the card lays makes a BIG difference in the complete reading. In time one learns this or if lucky to have a mentor to teach them and direct them. There are many ways to lay a deck out and also the meanings vary depending on whom is reading. Not all have the same meanings. |

Let's start out with the fact of where poker cards originated from. They actually came about from the infamous deck of TAROT. Since the Tarot deck where actually the very first playing cards. Now some might like to ask "Well why is it that the Tarot deck has more then the Poker deck if they are of the same". Well, as we all know just cause something is alike does not mean it is exactly the same. The regular deck does not have the 12 major arcana as separate cards. The 12 Major arcana are within the cards given one card more then one place value. For example: 2 of Hearts = 2 of Cups and the Lovers Card As for the suits and how they corrispond: Hearts = Cups Diamonds = Pentacles Clubs = Wands Spades = Swords |
