It is indeed one of the most confusing jobs to trace one's family. A mizo family is not like any other family in India. We, the mizos as a whole, are made up of a single tribe. When we trace our ancestors(roots), we usually discover that, some of our friends with whom we've been hanging out for the past 2 to 3 years are our second cousins !

But atleast those cases are ok. I know one person who went to a party one fine X-mas nite, and flirted with one babe whom he considered was a one night stand. The girl too didn't know him, and things got really hot that night. It was a week later that he discovered the girl was one of his second cousin's daughter !!! He was so God-damned relieved that nothing took place beyond the simple necking, petting and smooching at the back seat of his car that night!!


So, it is of utter-most importance for a mizo to know his family !!! And, it ain't an easy job knowing our relatives, coz, during our grand-pa's era, those ppl used to compete against each other to see who can have the most no. of children ! Nowadays, a household has maximum 5 members (average), but those days, the no. of ppl under the same roof was never less than 10 !!!
