The Neverwhere is one of my most favorite books. I loved the characters, the plot was strong, and it kept me turning pages. The ending was one of the best I've ever read; it left me feeling satisfied at how it turned out, but very sad it was over. Anyone who is looking for a good book to read should read this. 5 of 5.
Final Thoughts: It's a good idea to keep your life somewhere for safe keeping. *****

Another great book from Neil Gaiman was Stardust. This book had much more of a fantasy kick than The Neverwhere and was very refreshing. It was a very quick read and was unlike anything I've read so far. If you like Fantasy, you will like this book. Stardust receives 5 out of 5!
Final Thoughts: Stars are people too! *****

To Ride Pegasus was a big time let down. Since I found it in the fantasy section, I thought it would be a lot more fun, and a lot less political. With people discovering that they're telepathic or kinetic I thought that it could have been SO much better than it turned out. It ended up being very two dimensional, and the characters were hardly likeable. I read this book was published in the late 70's, trust me; it shows it's time. Unless you are a hard-core fan of this womans work, I suggest moving on if you see it on a shelf. I give it 2 stars, just because I was interested enough in somehow finishing it.
Final Thoughts: I know what you're thinking. No, seriously, I KNOW what you're thinking. **

This book was SO wonderful that I even wanted to cry a little in a part at the end. Only one other book that I can think of made me do that so that should tell anyone that knows me that this is a great book. The characters were awasom, the plot was well planned, the humor was perfectly placed, and it was good enough that I am going to read the second one! People that like magic, humor, and action with a bit of suspense will LOVE this page-turner! Plus having a talking cat helped too. 5 of 5!
Final Thoughts: Don't say Aunt Sara's name! Oops... Oh hell... *****

This is the second book to the Keeper series and it was just as good as the first! New characters that where brought in did their parts perfectly and the flow of the book was so tight that I hardly put it down. The love between Claire and Dean grow, a teenage demon and angel enter the scene, and so does a new cat! I really liked this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes cats, humor, and a damn good fantasy book! 5 out of five for sure!
Final Thoughts: Waitress- "Are you gay?" Dean- "No ma'am, I'm Canadian." *****

Long Hot Summoning, the third book in The Keeper's Chronicles, was a good read, but not as good as the first two. This book centers mainly on Diana (Claire's sister) and Sam (now in cat form). Diana is called on her first Summons: to stop the Darkness before it takes over the world from the Otherside. The plot was good and pretty fast-moving, but I found that there were too many characters with almost identical personalities. Both of the cats and the Keepers were way too witty, cocky, and know it alls through the whole book, leaving Dean, Lance, and Arthur to be the only characters that really stuck out as being different to me. The humor in the book was good, but not good enough to make up for the lacking diversity of character personalities, thus, that was the only reason that I made my rating 4 out of 5 instead of five stars.
Final Thoughts: Diana's shirt: "My sister's boy toy went to hell and all I got was a lousy T-shirt." ****

Out of Time took me a while to even get kind of into - about 250 pages to get into it really. This book didnt overly entertain me but it had enough going for it that it kept me going to the finish. Emma, the main character, was a bit dull - as were most of the rest of the cast. I did, however, like Spin and Charm (Em's cats), and Blaise. The ONLY reason I am going to read the sequel is because when the book ends it leaves a huge unfinished problem, and that REALLY pissed me off. The book was advertised as a wonderful fantasy book, but it lacked qualities that I always thought a real fantasy should have. Oh well, maybe I'll feel better after I read the sequel. Maybe not... 3 stars out of 5.
Final Thoughts: 'Powers unused are useless powers.' ***

Behind Time is the sequel to Out of Time. This book finishes the first one, which really ended like a to be continued TV episode. I found that this book was more entertaining and, after reading the first one, easier to grasp since you had already been introduced to the weird Wasteland world that Em enters. The second half of Behind Time was very interesting, and by the end I was reading it every moment I had time. So, if you are interested in getting into a different kind of fantasy book, this one will probably meet your need; just be sure to read Out of Time first! Four out of Five.
Final Thoughts: 'Feel the magic. Fear the truth.' ****

Gate of Darkness, Circle of Light started kind of slow. For about the first 50 pages I had to struggle to keep my interest held, but when the Adept of Light entered the scene I become totally and completely hooked. For some reason I didn't really feel connected to any of the chacters other than Roland, The Bard, Evan, the Adept of Light, and Darkness. But, good for the author, the story had a steady plot and was just really really good. I was sad to have it end, esspecially knowing there might never be a sequel to it. Oh well. Maybe one day! This is another one of those books where people are put into extreme situations, so if you're a lover of those kind of books like I am, you need to read it. And, if you like fantasy, read it too! FIVE STARS!
Final Thoughts: You know a book is good when the author has you rooting for a guy/guy relationship! *****

No, this is not a double post! It's a book with two novels inside. So, moving on, The Fire Stone was very very good. It was a little confusing right at the beginning but it quickly moves past that and into a wonderful fantasy story. The plot kind of sounds like a joke. A theif, a drunken prince, and a wizard princess have to and rescue The Stone of Ischia in order to save Ischia from drownding in a sea of lava. It's very much a fantasy novel, the world, the characters, everything pretty much has that spin to it. It's very fast moving and is very much a Tanya Huff book, meaning you'll need to keep an open mind, but as long as you do that you should enjoy this book. I loved it! Five stars!
Final Thoughts: Don't you just love happy endings? This one puts a new spin on it! *****

This is the fifth Harry Potter book in the series and the first one I decided to put a review on for. I'm not going to say much as I don't want to give it away, but I will say this: It will take you through an emotional roller coaster. Being 3rd or 4th book to ever make me cry it deserves my highest rank of 5 out of 5 stars. It was a big book it's true, but I read it pretty quickly so if you're a fan you wont have any more of a problem getting through it than Goblet of Fire. There are some new characters and the return of some old ones (there was a cameo of a certain character from book 2 that had me cracking up.) So go read it, you can get it at BJ's for $15+tax, cheapest I've seen. Just do everyone a favor and keep your mouths shut to those of who haven't read it yet. No one likes a spoiler.
Final Thoughts: Harry and Snape: It's a love/hate relationship! *****

Kushiel's Dart is one of those books that will stay with you forever. The story has a complex plotline full of every twist and turn you can possibly imagine and more. The main character, Phedre, is not your normal heroin. You follow her life through this alternative universe, which is so well planned out by the author that you almost think it's real. Truly this book is an epic, and it's only the first in the trilogy! It compares to the scale of Lord of the Rings, though it may even exceed that! Of course, this also means that there are endless characters, some with names so close you have a hard time remembering who is who, and the book is LONG with 900 pages of politics, war, and the life of Phedre and Co. So join Phedre and the rest of the memorable characters on a journey every true fantasy lover would enjoy! Just a warning, though, to those who are not open-minded or to those who are faint of heart: this book may not be for you! Anyone who may be offended by pain/pleasure, prostitutes and same sex couplings may want to steer clear of this book. You've been warned. So, I give this first book of the Kushiel trilogy a solid 5 out of 5!
Final Thoughts: "When Love cast me out, it as Cruelty who took pity on me."

Kushiel's Chosen was just as good as the first in the trilogy. Although it took me a while to read (I had a busy few months) it always kept me interested and I never thought of leaving the book unfinished. All our characters return, for the most part, and the epic continues with new twists and turns you will never see coming! I know I didn't! So if you enjoyed Kushiel's Dart you definatly need to read this next step in the trilogy. 5 starts out of 5!
Final Thoughts: I actually was SHOCKED in one part of this book! I bet you will be too. ;) *****
