| Look into your own eyes... Check into yourself. Look into your own world... Look without the help, Of people who try to change you... Of people who try to hurt you. The people that... try to make you, Something you're not. Something un-new. Look into your own past... Create the history, Of things you've done and things you're gonna do... Of things you love and things you'll breakthrough. The things that fit... The descriptions of you, Are the things you need, To stand out in this zoo. Look into... your mirror of lies... Look deep into... Your own strange eyes. |
| Before I even read 'Your Own Strange Eyes' the title drew me in. I've been told so many times by different people that I have strange eyes. Weird eyes. Unusual, wiggy, mysterious, dark, creepy, strange eyes. So I took a gander at the poem and I was surprised at the context of it. I've tried so many times when I was younger to look at myself. Analyze myself and say "This is where I want to be". Though I never actually do anything to get to that point. Because I didn't actually look at myself. I looked at myself through other people's eyes. Thankfully, the maturing... I use maturing lightly here folks... the maturing that I've gone through helped me to see me for how I wanted to see me. How I want to see me a few years from now... The poem is a very good inspiration to get you on the right track. |
