Ode To My Zip Drive

By Swedish Bob

O Zip Drive My Zip Drive
You seduced me with your storage space,
And your portability,
And your cooperation with my printer,
Which worked all throught the winter.
No need to worry about many files on my hard disk,
I could write them to your many disks,
And open them at my whim,
All the files I could now save,
I was so happy I wanted to rave.
Yet as lifeless as a plastic paperweight you rest,
On top of the off-white tower,
Your Green Diode on which makes me think,
you still have power.
Yet, alas my computer won't detect you,
Even though I have tried to compel it,
My files are stuck in computer purgatory,
My e-mails by the 100's, my bookmarks by the dozens, my documents a plenty, and all the neat wallpapers too.
My patience is waning, and I can't write free verse.
I fear that our time together is near over,
When I must venture to Circuit City to find another,
Like you but who will communicate with the rest,
And restore my fucking files because I am a nervous wreck!
