Updates -- January 14, 2004

Just changed the discussion topic in the Christianity section, since the last one wasn't going anywhere. I am sorry that you have to submit thoughts to me by email, rather than having an interactive sort of thing like a message board. I know that would make it easier, but my problem is that I get my message boards and other nifty gadgets from SiteGadgets, and I can't actually control what's said on the Forum. I'd like to be able to-- not that I want to stop people from having their say, but just in case of rude, unpleasent folks. If I find a different provider that lets me control posts and things, I'll set it up differently. If anyone knows of such a provider, please tell me and I'll get right on that!

Well, to begin with: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all! This website has now been available to Narnians and Friends for an entire year! And I'm very excited -- and very thankful to all of the visitors -- because I never dreamed that I'd reach 1000 hits in a year. I'm really pleased with the sucess of Cair Paravel and promise to keep it going. That said, please realize that I'm a harried student at University and so my chances for updating are fewer and farther between than I would like. Still, as I say, I will update whenever possible. I have a little more art to put in the Gallery, but not the time just now. And there's going to be a section just for the Citizens who are on Tumnus's List. So I do have plans, plans and more plans.
As for this update-- go learn all about our Citizen, Bogglesade! Not only is he this turns Featured Narnian, he also has a story, "The Legend of Lionstar" up in the Archives. Another new story, "The Weaver of Narnia", has been submitted by Kitera Matar. So go enjoy those and I will bring more to Cair Paravel... when the good Lord sees fit to give me some time!

This is not a real update, I'm afraid. This is just to reassure you that I have not forgotten Cair Paravel. I have lots of plans for the future, but I am unfortunately exceedingly busy. Still, I will slowly but surely continue to work on this. I've already got plenty of things planned for the next update. Speaking of which, is anyone interested in being the next Featured Narnian? I like to rotate these so that people get to see a fresh face. If you're interested, just drop me a line and we'll work it out between us!

This is just a quick update to keep my momentum going. There are three brand-new peices of Fanfiction in the Archives, including two new writers and one returning author-- Tichomael the Mouse. Also, Lirimaer has the next chapter of "Redemption" up. Go check them out!

And you thought I'd fallen off the face of the earth, didn't you? Well, as you can see, I've changed the layout of just about everything. I've been so busy with that that I haven't done much about updating the actual content of any of this-- there's a new topic in the Christianity section-- but rest assured, it's on the way. In addition to the typical content updates I have planned (more artwork and stories) I'm also writing up a little bio of C.S. Lewis himself. I think any Narnian site worth its salt ought to have a sectin devoted to him. As you may notice, there's a new page called "In Others' Words" which you can reach through the "Words of Wisdom" page (the "Quotes" button from the main page). That's there so that all you Narnia lovers can show other Narnia lovers what else you enjoy reading-- help spred some literacy through the World Wide Web.

Now a request: please drop me a line to say whether or not you like the new layout! This site is for you, so if there's something you hate (or love-- flattery will get you everywhere) please tell me! Or if there's something you'd like to see here, I'm always happy for new ideas. So drop me a line and I'll do everything I can to incorperate your input.
