I have spent most of my growing years in Kuwait,
however,I'm originally from India. I lived there for only six years,
those four years were undoubtably the best ones of my life. The fact is
that there can be no real description for India for the simple reason that
it is so diverse. It will probably take you about ten days to get used to
India but it will take you a lot more than that to bring yourself to
heading back home! There are a number of metropolitan cities in India,
one of my favorites is Poona, which is why you'll see a lot of it on this
page!
I did my undergraduate study in the city of Pune,
which was formerly called Poona. Pune is a city in Maharashtra, to the
east of Bombay. It is one of the oldest cities in the region, and was the
seat of the Marathas, which makes it a very historical place.Every major
Indian festival is celebrated in this city. The most ornate are the Ganesh
Chaturti in September and Navratri
in October. Nevertheless, Pune, is one
of the most 'happening' places to be in, especially if you're still in
school - it is more of a college town these days.
Pune is regarded to be an educational city, of
late. There are a number of colleges in this city and a lot of
youngsters come from all parts of the country (and from
foreign countries as well) to
study here. |
