Welcome to the Silhouette Social Club Homepage! Silhouettes is a four year social club that was founded by 20 charter members in September of 1951, on the steps of Reneau Hall on the MSCW campus in Columbus, Mississippi. Silhouettes is a organization that promotes sisterhood among the women at Misissippi University for Women. It also strives to intergrate campus and community life by sponsoring a variety of service projects and activities.
The Silhouette insigna is the Old English S within a diamond. Our symbols are the lace fan and the panda, and our colors are Black and White. Our flower is the gardinia. On special ocasions on campus, our members can be seen wearing sailor hats and saddle oxfords. Today, over 50 years after being chartered, the Silhouette Social Club is still thriving with a very unique combination of women. Each sister values the organization and everything that it stands for close to her heart, and wishes to see it grow and to see the traditions carried on.
