Make the Little things count...
The old saying, "it's the little things that count" is never more true than when selling your home. The way you present your property to prospective buyers can make all the differance between success and failure. Buyers tend to judge homes by cost and "move -in " quality. The less they have to do to move-in, the better and the more they are willing to pay. A home that looks like a lot of work will cause the buyer to make a lower offer or none at all. Without investing in costly and time-consuming renovations and redecorating projects, it's still possible to show your home to its very best advantage.There are a lot of easy, inexpensive ways to put a shine on it and enhance its overall desirablity. Here are some suggestions that may help:
* Polish the front door knob, clean the storm door and sweep the front steps.
*Open windows daily for a few minutes to exchange stale air and/or cooking oders and mildew / moisture from hot showers and laundry.
*Clear away any debris or clutter from the front door - inside and outside - to make the entry to your home seem more spacious and allow freedom of movement for more than one person.
*If you are at work during the day turn on a couple of lights to make your home even more inviting.
* Remove excess furniture that clutters a room will provide an opportunity for your home to appear spacious
*Place a vase of fresh flowers in a bathroom and place all personal care articales out of sight
* Open dark drapes and blinds to lighten and brighten rooms
