Photo page 11. ~ ~ ~ Hannam, Itaewon and Yongsan {All neighbourhoods in Seoul where I visit friends and go to meetings.}
These stairs go up to the dwelling-place of the Franciscans who staff this urban mission. Left:
Stairs beside our meeting place at the International Catholic Church in Hannam-dong.

Looking back down the hill at Hannam-dong.

At the top of the stairs, with another climb before coming to Itaewon..
Tents selling ethnic foods and souvenirs. Left:
World Cup soccer brought chefs and salesfolk from all over the world. I met an Ecuadorian Indian and several Pakistanis in these tents.

Right:
The Underground Market debouches onto the sidewalk. It's a subterranian shopping mall/bazaar. Stalls crowd the sidewalk in front of the stores.

Street in Itaewon, where many expatriates and tourists shop in Seoul. Lots of shops carry antiques and handicrafts.
Yongsan USO, where my friends in the armed services usually hang out. Left:
The USO at the U.S. Army Base in Yongsan, right in the heart of Seoul.

Right:
Very expensive handicrafts.
