| I have a fear, A fear that I am reminded of, When I close my eyes. A fear that makes me shake In the darkness of my life. A fear that I would be ordinary, A regular human With a regular life. No medal to my name, No claim to fame. To have done nothing That people would remember. To be a wasted life. So that when I am gone, Never to return, No one will remember That I was here and I had a life. I will be a gravestone With no flowers Next to my name. (c) 2002 L. Brown |
