| Her power had gone and Her life was falling down her shoulders She watched as the buildings she had built toppled over And the dust they brought made her choke. She couldn't see. It made her eyes sting. Her eyes burned red and she was choking, Suffocating in her life: Nothing left to live for, nothing left to hope for, Nothing left to stop her from doing anything because she couldn't regret Anymore things in her life. She took the object and stuck it into the white, Sliced it through, tore herself apart, Watched as it turned red. And she had her power again. She could control the running of her blood And how she felt - The frequency of her pain. She could get away from her disaster zone for a while, And as the blood ran down her limbs, The tears ran down her face. But she had her power again. She was in control. (c) 2002 L. Brown |
