Heart's Flight

Heart's love as strong as steel
Breaks all bonds, causes madmen to feel

Bitter pain in loneliest night
Hardest warriors flinch from the arrow's flight

Brings together those light and dark
For no one may hide from Eros' mark

Eyes aflame in bitterest cold
Makes the warrior shy, the bard bold

A startled touch, a casual glance
Both souls soon to sway that eternal dance

An arrow flies and strikes ever true
Green eyes meet and is lost in water's hue

No song sung, no poem said
Could convey the emotions both read

And as the moon brightened the night
Bard and warrior willingly lost the fight
