My two favorite authors are Haruki Murakami and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Both are incredible smart, abstract, and witty. They are masters of the literary maze. In no specific order, but usually an enjoyable AUTHORS, it was easier to list them rather than their books. I've read anything by those below that is in English.
Gail Tsukiyama.....Japanese, but usually writes about Chinese Women Aimee E. Liu.....wrote "Cloud Mountain".....moving story about an AM/WF couple. Maxine Hong Kingston.......I've read all of her work....not my favorite, but quirky. Gus Lee..... Neat background on the author... Lillian Lee..........I've read all of her books that are in English...the last was "Last Princess of Manchuria". Amy Tan.....one of the most famous Asian authors. I enjoy her work, but think they are not always in favor of the Asian Male. Banana Yoshimoto.....great young writer, good "chick" reads... Beng Fong Torres......... Anchee Min Patricia Chao Geraldine Kudaka shirley Geok-Lin Lin Lawrence Yep....great kids books Kenzoburo Oe

This is not a fair representation of what I've read, I was a bad girl and did not keep track of most titles or authors...........Grandmother stories are very popular now.. I think this is very nice, paying tribute, and keeping their history alive. Also, my spelling is not always the best....double check if you're looking.
