  • Distribution. United states and southern Canada. See for more Moths of the United States.
  • Ovum. Medium size, reddish brown.
  • Foodplants. Larva are polyphagous in the States and eat Prunus domestica, Prunus SP., Syringa vulgaris, Salix, Populus, and other trees. For a complete list look at  Lepidoptera of northern North America. I use Alnus nigra, and Populus sp.
  • Larva. The fully grow larva is bluish green covered by whitish powder on the dorsal surface (Baxter 1992).
  • Cocoon. Brown, spun up in twigs of the foodplant close to the ground (Baxter 1992).
  • Adults. Both sexes average 130 mm.
